You’re as much his mama as I am.” Bette held them both closely. Although Alex was squished between them, he didn’t struggle. He just hugged Tina’s neck and lay his head on her shoulder as if to seal his mother’s words. They were truly a family reunited.

    In the grand scheme of things all the shit that Tina had been struggling with these past few months at work were so inconsequential compared her real world and the two most important people in it. All that mattered to Tina in that moment was the joy of being home in Bette’s arms and holding their son between them. She saw her future as a wife and mother. It didn’t mean that she was putting aside her career ambitions, but never again would she sacrifice her love and family for the job.

    Finally they pulled apart. Once Tina settled Alex in the high chair, Peter pulled both women into a bear hug before they slid into the booth next to Lilly. Tina was closer so she gave Lilly a hug, while Bette blew her a kiss from across the table.

    “That was a nice surprise.” Tina said wiping her reddened cheek. She still had the glow from a night and morning of lovemaking but the light in her eyes was definitely enhanced by the little charmer sitting directly across from her. With his blonde hair, fair skin and hazel green eyes Alex had more of a physical resemblance to Tina than he did Bette but he definitely had the Porter charm and her killer smile.

    Although neither Bette nor Tina had given birth to him, it was ironic that Alex was the child they had argued about hypothetically when they’d first met and Bette announced that she’d already chosen a sperm donor in Marcus Allenwood even though she’d not yet found her life partner. Little did either expect that a year later they would not only be in love, but have a love strong enough to bridge their differences and the promise of a life together. Alex was the embodiment of their shared convictions for what they wanted in a family; a child that reflected both their heritages and would only know unconditional.

      And I like it especially that Bette and Tina finally join forces and support each other, without trying to overpower each other.

      Bat, take as much time as you need to post but just please don’t stop writing this story. It’s one of my favorite stories as well.
