Chapter 8: Lesbiannicus – Reckoning
“There is more, she does not travel alone.”
“To whom is keeping the princess company?”
“One of Queen Lenores soldiers.”
“How do you know this?”
“She wears the royal colors, “she speaks not aware of Urenas passing or the fact that Alice was now in the care of much different company.
“Continue to pursue her once she has made her way into Natticulus see me informed, “she says reaching into her cloak then placing coin into her hands.
“Gratitude.”
“Seek a hot bath and see coin put to proper use other than on whores and sweaty cunt, “speaking in a disgusted tone she pulls the hood of her cloak over her head before disappearing into the forest.
Tina initially hesitant about departing from her home found herself more at ease as her and Kit continued their journey north. Given the current turmoil surrounding them their journey thus far had been a peaceful one. It was Tinas first time being away far from home in many years. The scenery in this part of the world was beautiful and she lavished in it. For Kit, what surrounded her returned to her memories of she and Bette as children as they played in the same area frequently as little girls. Against their parents’ command they would sneak away and travel abroad playfully engaging in expedition missions. They would spend hours collecting insects, swimming in the lake, and creating art using the petals from the abundance of wild flowers that grew from the ground. Unlike her sister she had chosen a different path than joining the royal army. She was a musician, a singer who toured the world showcasing her talent. Life on the road and continuous movement led her to explore the illegal wonders the world had to offer, this disappointed their mothers greatly. Rather than return home to an earful of judgment and ridicule she would remain distance for years at a time. Her distance although not intentional caused a great strain between her and Bettes once close relationship. For Bette being the younger sister she looked up to her and her refusal to come home felt more like Kit had rejected her. Yet, in seeing the messenger arrive at their home daily she grew anxious hoping to receive word from her, she never did. As the years past, Bette taught herself to place all thoughts of her far from memory vowing to never speak her name again.
