    Children of the Night Ch4

    #######################################################

They finally got to Vegas around dinner time.  Carmen seemed to come here often as the hotel already had everything arranged.  The bell boy took them up to a two bedroom suite, Shane had never stayed in a luxurious room like this in her life.  There was a living room, two massive en suite rooms.

After they settled down, Carmen went to play a few hands of poker game, a few hands of black jack, and a few rounds of roulette.  She didn’t really enjoy it much, then she dragged Shane to an arcade centre to play arcade games.

Carmen was playing a rifle shooting game. She prepared lots of coins so that she could put one in every time a game was over.

Shane just watched her play. Carmen was getting frustrated at not getting pass the ‘big boss’ and she ran out of coins at the very last stage.  She suddenly hit the screen with her plastic sniper rifle, cracking the glass.  Shane was shocked, luckily no one was around.  She quickly grabbed Carmen and ran out of the arcade centre.

“Except from demolition, have you ever done anything constructive?”  Shane scolded her. God, she was like a child, actually more like a super spoiled brat.

Carmen was looking at her own reflection in the window of a fashion shop, running her hands through her hair to straighten them.  “From your point of view, it maybe destructive, from my point of view, it’s constructive.”  She reasoned proudly.

“Maybe you could do something that everyone thinks is constructive.”  Shane suggested.

“You cannot please everyone, such a thing do not exist.”  She corrected her.

“So you try your best to do everything out of the ordinary? If you are different, you don’t need to try so hard to prove it.”  Shane said.

Carmen held her long wavy hair up, looking at Shane. “Wait for me here.” And she went into the clothes shop.

When Carmen came out later, Shane nearly couldn’t recognise her.  Her jeans and jacket was replaced with a strapless ivory cocktail dress, showing off her cleavage.  She looked very elegant, this was not Carmen she knew.  Carmen was supposed to be a wild cat. The girl in front of her was a classic beauty, with her hair was tidy back, showing her long bare neck.  She did a twirl in front of Shane.

    Comments

    1. I like the fact that Carmen has depth and some reason for her bad-ass spoilt brat attitude and behaviour which is slowly being revealed and beginning to make sense to Shane. And in her usual fashion, Shane observes much more than she lets on and quietly makes declarations that shows her wisdom… in true Yoda fashion. Keep on writing and post soon again.
