    Alice finds a man at the door – Ro gets a job offer – Lara takes a job, and she and Carmen settle in? – Sam makes Shane an offer – Bette makes a Bette-like move with disasterous results – Quin struggles but finds something to hold onto

                Alice was shaking her head as she snapped the phone closed, angry at herself for letting her mouth get the best of her.  Her mind instantly went back to that moment at The Planet where Jo had moved a half ton beam without touching it.  A cold shiver moved through her spine, pouring herself some more coffee as Carmen dashed into the apartment she shared with Rosita, “Hey, Al,” she said as she ran through the kitchen, her hair flying behind her.

     

                “Hello to you too,” called back Alice as she watched Carmen’s ass rushing away from her.  Thinking that she and Ro definitely shared genetics, they were shaped the same, except Carmen had more hips, thought Alice.

     

                “Where is Ro?” yelled Carmen from her room, changing her clothes.  She had to meet Lara at her new job.  They’d spent the night together, again, this time eating and watching bad movies.  Laughing all night, and then going off to bed, no sex, just cuddling next to each other, talking about how bad the movies had been.

     

                “Getting her new leg, final fitting,” said Alice cupping the cup between both her hands.  She’d wanted to go with Rosita, but the Latina had refused, something about perhaps failing in front of Alice made Rosita clam up and push her away.  Rosita was a hard headed independent woman, and Alice got that, she was the same way, but this whole I gotta do it on my own thing was grating on Alice’s mind.  That, and Jo Wheaton’s apparent talent for moving things with her mind.  Alice put the thought out of her mind, having been up all night researching Jo.  Unable to stop herself, even though Jo had been rather clear about what would happen if she said anything about what Jo had done.

     

                “Hope it goes good, it might lift her spirits,” said Carmen stepping back into the kitchen, stealing the cup from Alice.  Taking a quick sip from the cup, “You could make coffee for a living.”

     

                “Not!” said Alice snatching the cup back from Carmen who was laughing.  “You all set for the fundraiser?” asked the now changed Latina, her hair up in a loose ponytail, wisps of her dark hair falling out of it, making it look sexy and tussled.

    1. I’m having to be selective about what stories I read, NO TIME. My son has NO #3 on one arm and #8 on the other.Can show at work. He is a Nasa car FREAK. Okay Bette and Jo No living together. Sam and hane Together. Tina Quin together Maybe that would be hot. Ro will do what she thinks best You threw LOT OF SHIT AT US. Just will close, it 86 here today. Dont hurt yourself with the snowblower and dont work to hard thanks bvh

    2. I didn’t expect Bette and Jo’s “honeymoon” to end so abruptly. And Sam’s just full of surprises, huh? Ro working on an elite team of crimefighters sounds like a good idea, too. As for Quin and Tina…that’s kind of a nice pairing. But how will Quin take to dating her sister’s ex?

    4. One situation, two couples: Younger couple, Sam and Shane, broach the subject of living together. It’s done and dusted, with a “yes” and some hot, happy sex in like, no time flat. Older, “wiser” (?!?) couple, Jo and Bette, broach the subject of living together. They throw a protracted wobbler, in tandem, with a pretty much unequivocal “no” being the answer, and have to be told to behave by the stewardess. Uh-huh. Yeah. They might be players, but Shane and Sam could maybe teach B & J a lesson in maturity. Heh! Anyway, Ro should take the job, she’ll kick ass and take names; Carmen and Lara are still hot… Carmen maybe needs to test “Heaven” out; and Quin and Tina are starting to look good… *very* good. Let’s see what Amy does to throw a monkey wrench into everything. Great chapter, Janet, as ever. Thanks

    5. Well, with Jo and Bette, two alphas there is bound to be some horn battering. It will be interesting to see if they can work through it…Quin and Tina = HOT HOT HOT!!! Thanks for this morning treat!!

    6. Stick to your guns Jo! Don’t move in w/ Bette! Afterall Jo has the bigger place & Bette’s reasons for not moving (Angelica) are weak. Loved their fight, also love Ro’ & Alice’s. Ro should def. take the job. Really like Tina w/ Quin but not sure Quin should be tied down just yet.
