Tina stared at him terror-stricken. “You can’t be serious, Henry?”
“Oh, I’m dead serious,” He answered. He seemed to have gotten the twitching under control.
Tina realized that she was sitting across from the professional Henry, Henry the lawyer, who had every legal right to his child. He held all the cards, and they both knew it.
“So this is about revenge…? You can’t have me, so I can’t have Mikey… is that it? Jeez Henry, and you call me a horrible person? What about Mikey’s feelings… shouldn’t your main concern be on what’s best for him?” Tina was getting warm now. She stood back up and started pacing the floor. “Mikey loves me and I love him… he’s used to having me around. Hell, I spent more time with him than you did over the last five months. You can’t just take that away from him… away from me… please, Henry.” Tina pleaded.
“I’m not the one doing this to him… you are, Tina. This is not my choice… you decided you want out… this is the consequence, Tina. Now what option do you chose?” Henry stated calmly.
“This is insane… he’s just a child, Henry… he wont be able to understand this. How are you going to explain to him that I’m gone from one day to the next? We could make some kind of transition period at least. I could come by a couple a times a week and spend the afternoon with him. I could take him, when you need to work. Please Henry, there has to be another way to go about this?” Tina cried.
“Tina! Choose an option!” Henry yelled. He was losing his cool now.
“It’s not a choice… I can’t move back in with you. I don’t understand why you want me to. I don’t make you happy…. I don’t love you, Henry… just think for a minute, there has to be another way,” Tina sobbed.
“So you choose option number three. Fine…” Henry stated and stood up.
“Henry….”
“I’m sorry it has to be this way… but I don’t see any other way. I’ll explain to Mikey that you had to go away… we have been on our own before, we can do it again.”
“Dad, why are you yelling?” Mikey mumbled, squinting against the bright light.
Tina and Henry both turned and looked at the door where the sleepy child was standing, looking at them a little scared.
Henry went to Mikey and pulled him up. “I’m sorry I yelled… let’s go back to bed.”
“Why is Tina crying…? She’s crying. We have to make her feel better,” Mikey said and wiggled his way out of Henry’s arms. He ran across the floor to Tina who bent down and hugged him tightly.
“Why are you crying, Tina? Did you hurt yourself?” Mikey asked in an all grown up way.
“No, baby… but I have to go away for a while… and I’m crying because I’m going to miss you so much,” Tina said in a voice stifled with sobs.
“Why can’t you just stay here?”
“I just can’t, baby… I’m so sorry. But you can always call me on the phone… your dad has my phone number and your mom does too… so you can ask any of them to help you call me. And I will call you all the time, I promise…”
“I don’t think you should go…” Mikey said. He was crying too.
Tina held on for her life. Henry came up behind Mikey and pulled at him. Mikey wouldn’t let go. Henry had to wring him from Tina.
Tina wanted to scream at Henry how wrong she knew this was, but she stayed silent for Mikey’ sake. She took her jacket and hurried to the door, away from the crying boy and his father. She ran to her car and broke down as soon as she closed the car door.

I suppose losing access child and there being nothing one can do to stop it would render one numb. Henry’s clearly lost the plot. Good post, anker.
I hope Tina is OK, but she doesn’t deserve to be in Mikey’s life. She’s not really a friend of the family nor his mother. Appreciate the time you had and let Mikey be loved by his parents and perhaps the next woman Henry does marry. Henry didn’t even owe her the time she just had, he’s not the bad guy here. He gave her options and she made her choice. Nice that Bette was there to pick up the pieces again even though she may not get what she really wants out of the relationship with Tina.
that hendick is some piece of work… i do hope miky’s mom does call tina… i have a feeling she knows just how good tina has been to her son… so glad bette went to find her… and also taking her HOME… please continue
definitly this was so difficult for Tina but Bette was there to help her. I am with Amanda maybe Mike’s mom let Tina will be near mikey because she care a lot about him and mikey love her too, The little boy don’t have to suffer the anger of her father. well done girl
I hope Mikey’s Mother was glad to get rid of that ass hole. Maybe she will let Tina see Mikey when she has him. Thanks goodness Bette went looking for Tina. The options he gave her was horrible wrong. He just want that build in wife part time Mom and some one to take care of his needs. thanks

Okay this chapter wasn’t what I hoped for, but it is your story and only you know where you are headed with it. Unfortunatley there are no winners in a situation like this because everyone is hurting. I feel sorry for Mikey the most because he was the only totally innocent one in all of this and he can’t understand what is happening. He just knows that he loves Tina and she loves him. I am so glad that Bette went and found Tina. She will be there for her no matter what because her love for Tina is unconditional. This was a very emotional chapter anker and I can’t wait to read your next one. Thanks

What kind of man would use a child to try to get a woman to stay with him? That’s what he was doing…he let her stay and play and bond and tuck him in hoping at the end of the night she would stay out of love for the child. Shameful! I wouldn’t want someone who dosen’t want me.
Henry is a complete a**!!!! That is just wrong of him to do that to Tina and Mikey. I dont see how he could hurt his son like that. Maybe he will change his mind after he sees Mikey hurting b/c Tina’s not there anymore. Hopefully Tina will be ok b/c now she has lost 2 sons. Very sad but a great update. Now bring on the mushy stuff. LOL PPS
I can’t really understand how Tina bonded so closely to Mikey. But I guess it can happen. Tina needs to get her priorities straight w/Bette first. She can have a family w/Bette. Even on the show, I never understood why they didn’t try and work out their difficulties. Why Tina didn’t try. Yeah, Bette was wrong and I don’t condone it but Bette didn’t committ murder. But hell, it is difficult to tell a complex story in just twelve 50 minute episodes w/many characters. PPS.
Azmama…it could have been done…they just took a really wrong direction…they could have worked on it instead of bringing in all those new characters…they could have worked on it instead of concentrating on the really weird life of Jenny…oh lord don’t get me started…

WTF????happened to Tina there???? I can understand her upset but this seems a bit more than that…did Henry do something??? Poor Mikey, adults should be adults when kids are involved BUT easier said then done…Henry’s obviously a bit cuckoo with the photos and all in his bed!!!! He can’t force Tina to love him….great writing PPS

I know how hard it is to walk away from something that you love with all of your heart. When a child is added to the mix it makes it that much harder to swallow the pain. Sometimes you wonder is it easier to walk away and never look back or to walk away but yet visit once in awhile. What Henry had planned was not going to help Mickey but it would help him. If he really cared about Mickey and Tina he would have allowed them some time during the week just for them. He also could have just said that it would be too hard on him and Mickey right now for her to be around. Maybe in time she could visit, but for Henry to do what he did it just shows what type of person he is. Thank god that Bette followed up on her desire to know if Tina was okay. Bette can hold her close to her heart and just be there for her.
Yeayyy its time for B&T go home together!
