After twenty minutes Tina got up and walked back inside. She locked up the house, slipping into her nighttime routine of so many years. She turned off the porch light and tiptoed through the dark house to the bedroom. Bette was sleeping on her side. The moonlight cast a celestial light on the face of the most beautiful creature Tina had ever known. She didn’t have the heart to close the drapes. I stead she slipped under the covers intending to stay awake for hours to look at the woman next to her. But as the warmth and feel of Bette’s body enveloped her, she felt herself being drawn into Bette’s state of peaceful slumber.

Bette’s last week at The CAC had been weird at best. Bette was used to a fast paced workday, she thrived on her hectic schedule. But once the opening night was over so was Bette’s job. All that was left for her to do was pack her things into boxes and say goodbye to the regular staff. Franklin stopped by Wednesday. His handshake was limp and he couldn’t meet Bette’s eyes when he said his formal goodbye to the woman who had made his business into what it was.
Bette wasn’t disappointed. Franklin had given her the opportunity to run The CAC back when she really needed a job that provided her and Tina with stability and financial security. She was thankful for that. But neither Franklin nor Bette were team players. They’d worked along side each other, never together. Bette held no bitterness towards the man who mumbled his goodbyes, but she wouldn’t miss him either.
As the week went by Bette felt her mental fog lifting. Every day that passed made her feel more sure she’d made the right decision. She’d done all she could do for The CAC and by Thursday she knew in her heart, she was ready to move on.
When Bette broke down in her office it had been like a mental short-circuit. She’d had them before. They were usually followed by a week of soul searching, a time her mind needed to catch up with her heart. She needed that time to find her balance. Tina of course knew this about Bette. Like magic she stopped asking question, she stopped pushing, and thus provided Bette with the time and space needed for her to realize, what Tina had known back in Bette’s office, when she pulled Bette close and told her to let it all out.

Yeah. Alpha Tina is *totally* drool-worthy, doesn’t matter if she’s wearing 5-inch heels or a bathrobe and a mouth ringed with toothpaste foam. She got Bette to hold on to that shred of patience, and the result? H. O. T. I can’t wait for the trip Tina has planned… she doesn’t have to wear a thing and I’ll be drooling. Wait, I phrased that wrong. Uh…. no, I didn’t. I’m glad Bette’s got the CAC out of her system, and it’s interesting that Tina gave her the time to get over it, and just left Bette to sort it out on her own time, while still being there for her. Last time they left each other alone too much, Bette was the next-to-last to find out T was pregnant. They’re in a way better place now though, and their understanding of each other has vastly improved. Hmmm… is there hope that Tina might want to move back to the house after all? Home is where the heart is; Bette’s still living at the house… Excellent chapter, anker, I loved it. Thanks for posting it so soon after the last one.

Alpha Tina is always sizzling HOT. **note to author, Alpha Bette can be even hotter, right? ***And payback….ahhhhh….can be so much fun, especially when done with “ANKER Style!” LOL! My heart was heavy when Bette finally broke down in her office. Leaving the CAC is the best thing for her, but leaving your comfort zone is always a little unnerving. What a way to get the day started and all this before breakfast. Now that is how I would love to begin my day. Bette and Tina’s own special pre-breakfast interlude is one way of guaranteed adult alone time. Bette letting go of all her her emotions go is very healthy. Too bad she can not seem do that as they come upon her and not hold onto to them until they explode from her.
