It was hard to see the disappointment written all over Dana’s face. “Hey you didn’t do anything wrong…. it’s just Alice.. she is weird sometimes…. you really like her don’t you?”

“Oh… God… Yeah I do.”

“You guys will be good together.”

“You think?”

“Yeah I do.”

“You think I have a chance?”

“I don’t know her as well as Bette does… but yeah I do.. and so does Bette.”

“Tina why did she freak like that?”

“I don’t know but I am going to find out…. you ok?”

“Yeah I just don’t want to blow it… I really like her Tina.”

“Hey relax… just be yourself and you will be fine.” Hearing the hurt and insecurities in her best friends voice broke her heart, and Tina was quickly becoming pissed at Alice for causing it.

“Promise?”

“Promise!” Tina gave Dana a quick hug before leaving the kitchen and heading back to the bedroom. A woman on a mission. She was going to get to the bottom of this and God help Alice if she broke Dana’s heart.

“What the heck is up with you Alice?” Tina barked as she walked into the bedroom.

“She’s a freaking doctor… I can’t go out with a freaking doctor”

“Give me a break Alice.. yes she is a doctor, a doctor that goes to work in pig tails and rainbow socks, she also a tennis player.. sweet as hell and my best friend. What is your point?”

“But..”

“But nothing Alice… pull your head out of your ass for a second and you will see she is a normal person just like you and me, and she happens to be really into you, and standing in my kitchen thinking she did something wrong cause you freaked out.”

Alice stood there slack jawed staring at Tina.

“Is she Ok honey?” Bette asked.

“Yeah she will be if Alice quits acting like an idiot… otherwise she will be crushed.”

“Um… yeah.. hi… right here” Alice said waiving her hand
