Bette walked towards the women, “there you go…, I hope they turn out okay…”
“I’m sure they will be fine dear, thank you…”
Bette hesitated as the four women stood together, “isn’t this a wonderful place?” she said, looking around her at their surroundings.
“Absolutely marvellous, we’ve been waiting a long time to see the sites, haven’t we dear,” the woman said to her partner.
“Yes we have…,” the other woman smiled as she linked her arm in partners, “this is our anniversary present to one another…”
Tina looked at Bette and smiled, “how long have you been together?”
“Thirty years…”
“Oh wow, that’s a long time…” Tina said as she linked her arm in Bette’s.
“Time flies dear, before you know it the two of you will be celebrating thirty years…, I saw it you know…” the woman with the camera said.
Bette swallowed at the words, she glanced at Tina, “saw what?”
“The way you looked at one another…, it certainly brought back memories seeing the two of you just now…”
“Oh yes it did, I saw it too.” The other woman said in agreement.
Tina smiled sadly as she gave an internal sigh.
“How long have you been together dear?”
“Oh uh…” Tina said as she looked at Bette with pleading eyes, “we uh…”
“It’s all still kind of new for us…” Bette said quietly.
“Well, you mark my words…, I saw it when you were standing together over there…” the woman nodded to the side of the stadium, “before you know it, you’ll be celebrating the same…, now come on dear, we still have to see the mosaics…”
“Sure thing honey…, it was lovely to meet the two of you…”
“And you…, thank you…, oh and enjoy the rest of your holiday…” Bette said, almost stunned by the words she had heard the women say.
Tina stood silently as she watched the women walk away, she glanced at Bette and walked towards the railing, looking out into the infinite expanse of the Mediterranean ocean…
Bette looked after the women, walking away arm in arm chattering to one another. She smiled before glancing to where Tina stood.
She walked to Tina, standing behind her, glancing over her shoulder to see the view she was taking in. She slowly slipped her arms around Tina’s waist, her nose resting in Tina’s hair. She felt the beating increase in her chest, the words spoken had touched her deeply and they had obviously touched Tina too…
“Are you okay?” Bette whispered.
Tina nodded but she could feel tears welling in her eyes as she stared out to the sea, she gave a sudden laugh, “of course…, we both know it’s just a holiday romance…”

Ah mate… I love this! I know I say it all the time but it’s simply the truth. You have such a way of captivating the reader that it just amazes me. I will be sad when you end it but it has been an incredible tale… thank you for sharing it! xoxo

Yes, Jo, I will also miss this fantastic journey that you have taken us too. It was a beautiful for B&T to meet and sad that they may not end up together. Great update. Another wonderfully written chapter Jo. I think that Bette and Tina are going to find that this much magnatism between two people in just a few days will not subside when the holiday does. How could either of them walk away after this…it’s not just a holiday romance. I hope the hospital visit is a short one Jo…looking forward to your next post.

“it’s not a myth and I am not kissing you with morning breath…” !! I knew Tina was the voice of reason and wisdom ! Hahaha ! But seriously, everytime I’m reading a fic and two people are described kissing in bed in the morning I can’t help but think to myself : ” whaaat ? They haven’t even brushed their teeth but they’re already just one caress away from having sex !! “. I really liked the fact that this was realistic, Jo, even though this all seems like a fairytale… Anyway, I’ve only found out about this new story of yours a couple of days ago but I’m very very fond of it. I love the lighthearted spirit of it ( even though we all know you’re the queen of drama. Hehehe ! ) and the contrast with the intensity of B & T’s feelings for each other ( since I guess it’s pretty clear they’re already in love with each other, even though they’re probably scared to admit it to themselves so soon ). You are a wonderful storyteller, Jo and I think your talent as an author is still unmatched in the history of fanfiction. At least, your prose is delightful to me and I’m once again completely hooked on one of your fics. Oh, and did I mention how endearing your Tina is here ? ( this from one of Bette’s biggest fan ).
