He walked out the kitchen and into the living room and sat on the couch.
By this time Christie was scared to death and had tears running down her small face.
Tina: aww baby its ok…daddy just made a boo boo ok, everything is going to be fine.
Tina said hugging her daughter trying to find any words to comfort her. Tina tried to fix her daughter something else to eat but now Christie wasn’t hungry, so Tina sent her to the room to finish her homework. When Christie left, Tina began picking up all the scattered food off the floor and wiping the walls as some food had gotten on them when Henry flipped over the table.
An hour later the kitchen mess was now cleaned up and Henry was passed out on the couch. Tina felt the need to leave him right there and then but couldn’t find the courage to.
Christie: mommy are you ok?

Tina turned around to see her daughter standing there with tears in her eyes.
Tina: aw yes baby mommy is ok, did you finish your homework?
Christie nodded her head.
Christie: mommy?
Tina: yes baby?
Christie: what’s wrong with daddy? Why is he being so mean?
Tina: baby, daddy had a bad day today and is really stress right now that’s all, he is very sorry for scaring you honey, he loves you very much do you know that?
Christie: yes mommy.
Tina: ok sweetie why don’t we get you ready for bed.
Tina picked her daughter up and took her in the room to start the night routines and prepare for bed.
Present…
Deputy: so your husband was laid off and the abuse started back up.
Tina: yes that’s correct.
Deputy: And how long did it last?
Tina thought for a moment and began having tears run down her cheeks.
Deputy: Mr. Kennard how long did the abuse last after that?
Tina: til yesterday.
Both the deputy and Bette just looked wide eyes at Tina…Was she really getting beaten all these years since then…Neither had a clue it was going on this long, I mean yea she had been beaten the last few days but who knew it started years ago.

Absolutely trust me this is Tina last incident with that asshole…argghh I get angry too but it’s what really happening so I gotta keep going ya know…sigh
This was a very difficult story from the beginning. and I hoped that everything would be better that Bette was Tina’s life, and Tina is ready to denounce the rotten garbage Henry.
I agree with the others, I often felt while reading anger, but I was hoping everything will get better over time, Tina and Christie’s life.
