    Don’t Fade Away

The lanky woman walked up the steps of her seedy apartment building. The dark circles around her eyes as she rubbed them. She pushed her hood off her head and walked into her apartment. She scratched her head and sat down on her torn up couch. She looked at the table and grabbed the rolled up dollar bill. She bent down and snorted the white substance up her nose.

    “I’m sorry, but I can’t do this.”

The same voice that ran through her head. She shook her head and fell back on the couch. A petite woman came around the corner. She walked over to the couch and sat down. She cut herself a line and snorted up her nose.

“I don’t want to be with you anymore.” The fragile-like woman sat up and shook her head again.

“It’s time for you to leave.” The petite woman looked at her and got off the couch. She grabbed her things and put on her shoes.

“I had a great time.” She walked over to the woman on the couch and kissed her. She walked out of the apartment and closed the door.

Shane got up from the couch and locked the door. She walked back over to the couch and laid down. She grabbed the crumble up picture of her and Carmen , and a tear fell down her cheek. She remembers the night that changed everything.

“Where are you going?” Shane watched Carmen pick up her things.

“I can’t do this with you anymore Shane. The lying, the women, the DRUGS! I can’t be with you if you’re going to keep doing this to yourself.” Carmen stormed out of the bedroom.

“What do you want me to say? I don’t know how many times I told you I’m sorry.” Shane followed Carmen out into the living room.

“Shane, you are sorry. You are the sorriest piece of ***** I’ve ever seen.” Shane felt her body boil and clenched her hands. Carmen stared at her.

“What are you going to do? Hit me? I dare you to hit me!” Shane stepped back and took a deep breath. She walked over to Carmen and held her.
