    Don’t Say Good Bye~ Chapter 6

Bette and Alice dated for a couple of months back in New York, but nothing ever came out of but a really good friendship. They both missed L.A. so they decided to move back. Bette was going to start her own gallery and Alice found a job working for the newspaper so it was a perfect opportunity for both of them.

    (A month later)

Tina was on set of a movie that they were shooting in Hawaii. They had just begun so they were going to be there for a few months.

“Okay Mike you got my notes with some of my ideas. You don’t need to use them but they’re there to let you know what I want out of it. Just remember that I chose you so I’m trusting you with this picture.”

    “Of course Tina.”

    “Good”

“Jane can you please make sure that the actors are taken care of, with water, fruit and whatever they need?”

    “Yes Tina.”

“Thanks, we have to try and make this run as smoothly as possible, maybe we’ll get done earlier.”

“Of course it will, it always does when you are here.”

“Thanks, just keep reminding me we are on a budget.”

    “No problem.”

At that moment Shane walks over.

    “Hey Tina, hey Jane”

    “Hey Shane what’s up?”

“Nothing much, I got a few minutes before I have to do some touch ups on the actors’ hair. Any of you two need help with anything?”

Tina saved Shane from the streets, she got her a job as a hair dresser, so where ever Tina goes, Shane goes along with her. Shane thanks Tina for every thing that’s she’s done for her and to this day she’s still trying to find some way to repay her.

“I’ve got every thing under control, thanks Shane, but I think Jane here would like your help.”

Tina always liked putting her on the spot because she knew that she liked Shane.

“Cool, do with me what you will Miss Jane.”

“Oh god,” she whispers to herself, she was trying to keep her mind out of the gutter. “Umm yeah, right this way.”

Tina could only smile to herself.

    (1 Month Later)

Bette was looking at the plans for the gallery, she noticed that something wasn’t right with the light setting when the carpenters were putting it up. She quickly walked up to them.

“What the hell is that for?”

“Ma’am the lighting plan says to build for a couple of track lightings right here, so that’s what we’re doing.”

    “Idiots,” she says to herself.

    “Excuse me?”

“If you guys were reading it right you’re supposed to be building it over on the other side.”

The contractor walks over when he hears some yelling.

“Miss Porter can I help you with something?”

“Mr. Harper, I hired you because you know my father and he recommended you. So I trusted you to hire the most experienced people for this job. I will not tolerate any more mistakes.”

“Mistakes, what are you talking about?”

She was trying to stay calm.

“These men here are building the wrong light setting in the wrong area, it’s suppose to be on the other side of the gallery.”

He looks at the plans that were rolled up under his arm and he notices the mistake.

“Excuse me while I have a talk with them. I apologize for these inconveniences Miss Porter and I assure you that there will be no more.”

“I believe you, just remember that you are on a deadline.”

He nods his head and walks away. She rubs her temple and walks outside the building. The construction is supposed to take a month and a half to get it to look the way she wanted it. Then it was going to take another two months to get her gallery situated for the opening night. She wanted every thing to be perfect if she was going to survive in the art world.
