“Hey Dane, I had no mail, did you bring it in?”

“Oh yeah, sorry. It’s on the kitchen table.”

“No problem. Thanks for bringing it in
for me.” Shane walked over to the table and rifled through her mail.
She picked up one and looked at it. “Dane, this is for you? Who would
send you mail here? That’s strange, there’s no stamp on it, hmm.”

She walked over to Dana to hand her the
letter. As she walked closer she saw that Dana was trembling. “What’s
    wrong? Dane? What’s going on?”

Dana didn’t answer, she sat on the couch
with her hands shaking and tears beginning to fall down her cheeks. She
carelessly took the letter from Shane and started to shake her head and
began to murmur, “I can’t believe she found me. I did what she asked.”

    “What was that Dane?”

Dana just sat there, staring at nothing,
“I don’t understand. I did what she asked. Why won’t she leave me
alone? Why?” She said to herself over and over.

    Chapter 22

Shane has known Dana for just shy of ten years. In all of those
years, she has seen her visibly nervous only once, when she had to tell
her family about the Subaru ad. And even then, it was an emotional
fear. But today, she saw her friend visibly scared, not nervous or
anxious, but scared. As she tried to get Dana to answer her about what
had her so scared, she got no response. Dana just rocked back and
forth, staring at something only visible to Dana, mumbling to herself.
Shane was the strong one, the one who used common sense, not emotion to
lead her through her daily life. This helped to allow her to keep a
level head. But seeing Dana in front of her, looking much like a
someone who has just had her worst nightmare lived out in reality,
    Shane was losing her cool.

She tried again talking to Dana, but there was no reaction. She
carefully placed her hands onto her friend’s shoulder and tried again,
but still no reaction. Finally, she began to forcefully shaker her
    friend, “DANA. Talk to me!”

Whether it was the shaking or her raised voice Shane wasn’t sure,
but Dana did finally come out of whatever trance she was in. She turned
her head and slowly lifted her eyes to Shane’s waiting gaze. To Shane,
her eyes were those of a little kid.

    1. A motion has been brought to the floor to appoint Lucia captain of the Danish Ship ….. All in favor say I….IIIII…motion carried!!!! You are the Shit!!! This is another great post! Can’t wait for the next chapter…the suspense is killin me :)

    2. I was about to send out a search party for you Lucia!

A Bette-less chapter – and we got through it! Could it be that we could survive her loss? I wonder.
‘Chris’ and Julia and baby makes three. They seem to be a comfortable nuclear family.

      BOOM!!!

    3. P.S.: Has your Dana been training with your namesake, Lucia Rijker? If so, she should be able to take care of an evil stalker by herself.

Alice and Dana better get a gun. Shoot first and ask questions later. Better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6, and all that…

I thought Shane was the resident ass-kicker. She better get busy! And I’m glad Lara is not the reason. I guess…

    4. I’m the first to comment *dances around happily* I’m gonna have to suffer for another week, am I? What’s going with Dana? I love how you wrote Shane and her concern for her friends. Cid, so when can we expect Part 2? I’m so ready with my utilities belt to beat up whoever is torturing Dana. Lol, I’ll being a kid now. You’re my favorite writer!

    5. Great chapter, all your chapter are great even if I don’t always post comments. But now you gone and done it. I won’t be able to do anything but consistently check the fics board to see if you have posted the rest of the chapter. No shopping, no cleaning, no hanging with friends, just me sitting at the computer checking for updates. I know we (danish/or other’s not tibette) don’t have as many writer as some of the other ships. But damn the ones we have are in a class of their own. And you are at the top of the class. Please post soon. This plus your other story. Deb
