Two hours later
Bette and Tina found themselves circling around the block, parking was definitely a commodity in Silver Lake. Cars, bikes and pedestrians moved around each other all maneuvering to get to their destination. ”There,” Tina said as she pointed down a side street. Bette slowly turned the car and made a quick U turn easing into the spot just vacated by a Toyota. Bette smiled, a perfect collaboration.
Bette and Tina walked into Dana’s grill hand in hand.
”Shane should get Valet parking for this place,” Bette complained as she scanned the room. ”Wow! This place is amazing. I would have never guessed she could have pulled this off after seeing all the problems. A full patio bar and restaurant with a dance floor. This place is going to be rockin’ at night.” Bette said with a proud smile.
”It’s got the perfect combination of ambiance. I love the feminine inspired art and those chandeliers.” Tina gave a laughing smile as she continued to turn around taking in the entire place. ”Look Bette, the outdoor patio bar has two fire pits and foliage cascading all around.”
Bette continued to look around trying to catch Shane. She saw Tess busy at the bar and Dani and her friends in the far corner, but no Shane.
”There,” Tina said as she caught Alice’s eye and waved.
Bette and Tina made their way to a large table. Alice and Nat were already seated. There were three seats to Nat’s right and three seats to Alice’s left. Bette and Tina took their place next to Alice.
”Why so many seats?” Bette asked as she slid into her chair.
”Gigi is bringing the kids here for the exchange,” Nat said.
”What took you so long. We expected you guys a half hour ago,” looking back and forth between Tina and Bette. A rise smile came across her face. ”What have you two been doing?”
Tina blushed while Bette gave a smirk with a glint in her eyes.
”Yeah, ok, you guys are forgiven. I remember what it was like in the honeymoon stage of a new relationship,” she laughed as she handed Bette and Tina a menu.
Nat smiled as she nudged Alice.
”OMG, I love Shane. ”Look Babe,” Tina leaned over while showing Bette the menu with a smile on her face.
Bette looked and smiled. ”Kit’s Strawberry waffles, Tina’s Pancakes, Angie’s special eggs and Alice’s secret Mimosa,” Bette paused, ”Nice.”
”Baby, you missed one. The legendary Bette Porter stuffed Crescent,” Tina smiled leaning over and giving Bette a kiss. ”A legend in her own time for sure and she is all mine.”
A young women with pink hair, colorful inked snake that wrapped around her arm and a beaming smile came up to their table. ”Good morning ladies, my name is Kat and I am going to be your server today. What’s your pleasure on this glorious Saturday morning.”
The girls looked at each other and smiled. One by one they gave their orders. Kat returned a few minutes later with coffee all around.
Shane walked up a few minutes later and plopped herself down next to Bette. ”Well?”
Alice jumped up and gave Shane a big hug. ”This place is amazing. It feels like we are home again.” Alice said with a beaming smile that reached her eyes.
”She is right, this place is amazing.” Tina smiled. ”I like what you did with it and the over all feel is great.”
Bette looked over at Shane with a big smile and nodded her head.
”This place is already popping,” Nat said as she looked around seeing all the tables filled and a line out the door.
”Are you going to be able to sit with us and have breakfast?” Alice asked hopefully.
”Of course, Tess has everything under control. I am not really hungry, but I am ready for my double espresso.” Shane smiled, ”and I wouldn’t miss breakfast with my family for anything.”
