Eternally your: when a lifetime is not enough # 11
“She knows me, Al, but she forget who I am…”
Bette walked slowly through the house and Alice followed her with the eyes, she couldn’t believe her friend could forget a woman like Bette.
“So… you, girls studied together…High school?”
“No…”
“University?”
“No…”
“You guys met each other while she produced some movie…”
“No…”
“Than tell me, Bette, who are you… to Tina?”
The mocha stopped in front of a big reproduction. It was a photograph. The image was blurred, it showed the artist let the shutter opened to capture the movements while the couple happily embrace and kiss.
It took two seconds to the brunette devise much more than Tina’s shadow. There was a certain pair of eyes in the melted image that alerted her senses. The gallery owner stepped closer and them she firmly stepped behind and lost her breath. The absence of air began to scratch her lungs.
“Bette?” Alice could hear Bette’s heavy breath.
The brunette could hear Alice, far away in time.
“Bette…Are you ok?” To Alice it seamed that the brunette just arrived from a marathon. The air wasn’t enough to her breathe.
The art collector couldn’t move or talk. Her mind began to be invaded by this movie she already knew so well.
She opened her mouth once, but nothing came. Her lungs began to fail, her consciousness began to fly.
“Bette…”
The brunette tried again to concentrate, to keep her blood warm inside her veins, to keep the air coming.
She pointed to the piece and just a word moved from her mouth.
“Who…”
Bette moved once more till she was centimeters from the photography again, pointing to the male figure.
“This is Meltic, her boyfriend, Bette…”
“No…”, she murmured. “No…” And those blurred eyes gained her soul. The mocha tried to found something to hold on, but there was nothing she could grab to avoid her fall. Her knees failed and found the floor. Her left hand reached the wall while her right hand couldn’t block the pain in her chest.
“Bette!”
The air was not there anymore. Her lugs closed the doors. The brunette’s forehead found the wall. Her eyes couldn’t focus. The pain, once more, bit her till she had no air to breathe. The pain was a beast and the mocha woman couldn’t arrest the wild monster inside.

Thanks for making us part of the journey of this unique and fantastic story. PPS Hugs & Kisses on both your cheeks. – Lucero & Marsha (Latin JC’s Salsa Aunties) P.S. Thanks for the update and congrats on the new house! have fun moving.
Everytime I read another chapter in this story I get goosebumps because it is so brilliantly written. I love how all the characters are rallying around Bette because they recognize that she is Tina’s soulmate. The use of Meltic as Bette’s bestfriend and murderer is so powerful. He essentially stole her life as well as her love. Braz you have captured my imagination with your story. Best of luck with the new home. Sorry I missed you in the spotlight.
WOW!!! Very Powerfull!!! Best wishes on your new home. Thank you
