Vanessa didn’t do anything but stand still and let the question sink in. Out of all the questions she thought would come this was certainly not one of them. The need to understand why Tina would ask this question made her mind race.

"Tina I’m not sure why you would ask me that question?"

"Well seeing as how you’ve obviously not forgiven me for being born, I just wanted to know if you’ve forgiven the man who played a hand in creating me."

"Tina if you’re asking me if I still hold any anger for him then the answer is no. I stopped being mad at him years ago. I couldn’t hold any anger for him any more it was eating at me. Which was causing me to drink."

"But you didn’t stop drinking until a few months ago what held you to the bottles after you’d stopped being angry at him?"

"To be honest, disappointment. I was disappointed in myself for the wrongs I’d done in my life and yours." Tina noticed how Vanessa danced around the question and never really gave a straight forward answer.

"You haven’t answered my question, Vanessa." Tina focused her attention on Vanessa’s body language.

"What question Tina?" Vanessa asked exasperated by the way she was being interrogated.

"Have you forgiven him for what he did to you?"

    "I told you yes."

"You’re telling me you forgave the man who violated and took your womanhood, something he had complete control over. But you haven’t forgiven me for being born. Something I had no will, or choice about. How can you justify that?

"I can’t. It was something I had to do to save my own life. I knew if I didn’t I would die a bitter, hateful woman and I couldn’t have that."

    "So why not me?"

    "Why not you , what?"

"Why haven’t you forgiven me? Clearly your upset with me for that reason alone. There is no other answer for the anger you hold for me."

"Tina I was never really angry at you…"

"Vanessa stop lying to me, please." Tina felt her anger burning to peak through on this conversation.

    1. Yeah I am with nancy720 Tina got rid of the dead weight like batman and robin in the old days “POW! BAM! CRASH! Let her go to Bette, hopefully she’ll understand Bette’s decision. Can’t wait for the next post.

    2. I really, really loved this chapter. To see Tina come out of her shell and to realize that she is loved. I am glad that she is leaving her so called mother behind. Now she needs to call her woman and tell her that she loves her and is never leaving her.

    3. Good for Tina, tough for Vanessa. I wonder if she’ll ever get herself right. I guess in your world Tina can take a dirct flight from Atlanta to Havana.

    4. A happy, enlightened, strong, courageous, Tina, is always great to read. I Love the story, and Tina needs to find Bette, so they can share this great moment together. Post soon Netta, cliffhangers are tough.
