    Bette and Tina wonder about the life they have returned to – is this what they want?

    Chapter 8 – Is this the life I want to return to?

    Five days later at the Planet

    Alice was almost pacing the floor. Bette, Kit and Tina had said little
    about the trip and finally today she was going to have coffee with
    Bette and get the scoop. She felt hopeful that Bette had wanted to have
    coffee and seemed to be in a generally good mood but who could tell
    with how short she had been on the phone.

    The last couple of days had been very emotional and quiet time for
    Bette. She found herself in long daydreams about Tina and Jessie. She
    would catch herself staring at the clock wondering what they were
    doing. And why on earth had she been so short with everyone else around
    her since she returned? Her house felt very empty, almost tomb like and
    silent. How could life have gotten so dissatisfying all at once? She
    ached to hear Tina’s voice but knew that she did not want place
    expectations on their new friendship.

    Tina finished the last batch of bread with her baking helper and friend
    Drew. She looked at the clock and was lost in thoughts of what was
    going on in California with Bette. “Are you Ok Tina?” Drew asked with
    concern. Drew was a great helper and came in to help Tina a couple of
    times of week with baking. Drew and her partner Melinda had been some
    of the first other lesbians Tina met in the Hollow. She was pregnant
    with Jessie and feeling very alone and Drew and Melinda took her in.
    Melinda was also pregnant and they had been a great support system –
    Tina’s only true friends in the Hollow.

    “I’m OK Drew” “You are so not believable in this moment, I know where
    your mind is” Tina laughed a bit knowing Drew was really on to her.
    “You have been thinking about Bette non-stop since she left” “I’m just
    trying to put my head around it all, about what it means” “You know
    Tina I think it’s more about what you want it to mean. You and Bette
    are obviously still connected on a deep level and I think that is the
    true reason no other relationship has worked out for you since Bette”
    “I didn’t realize how much I missed her, despite everything that
    happened she is an amazing women”

    7. You have no idea how much I look forward to this heart felt story. Once you have found your soul mate, no one else even comes close. That kind of love never dies….here is hopping that B&T realize that life is not really living, without each other in it. Jess needs a MaBe to help her grow up. Have a Happy New Year and a safe one.

    10. Wow, will Tee decide to spend Xmas in LA then run into the Italian Vampire? If even Bette herself is not sure if she won’t hurt Tee again or not, how could she convince Tina about it?

    11. Oh, I’d love to see this. I can’t imagine how you will bring these two together, but with Alice involved, it’s going to get wacky. Especially with Isabella in town. YIKES!!!

    24. I love this story. It allows one to believe in true love again and to never give up. I sure hope that Bette is able to spend Christmas with Tina and Jessie.
