Chapter 2
The drive to the hospital was relatively quiet, neither woman saying too much, as the proximity of their bodies in the front of the sporty BMW was causing both women to feel much warmer than normal.
“This is a very nice car.”
“Thanks, it was one of the first luxuries I allowed myself when I came into my own money wise.”
“Nice, I bought an apartment when I hit that point. I drive a 7 year old Saab, but one day soon I will get my Porsche.”
“Well I hope you get it soon, so you can stop trying to commit hari-kari on the bike paths.”
Bette and Tina both laughed.
They soon pulled up to the hospital, and Tina went to thank Bette one more time for her time and for the ride to the hospital. Bette pulled into a parking stall and proceeded to get out of the car and go around and open Tina’s door.
“Tina, we’ve come this far together, the least I can do is accompany you for the next few hours as you wait for treatment.”
“Oh, I would hate for you to waste your whole day on me Bette, I can call one of my friends later to come and get me.”
“I wouldn’t consider spending the day in the company of a beautiful woman a waste of a day. I am not sure why, but I really don’t want to say goodbye to you yet. Is that okay, I mean, I don’t want to push myself on you if you are uncomfortable, but I could swear you felt it too. Am I wrong Tina?”
Tina looked at the gorgeous brunette with the dark soulful eyes and knew she could never say goodbye to her.
“No. You are not wrong. I don’t…I feel it. I feel it very strongly and I don’t want you to go either.”
Bette took Tina’s hand in hers.
“Then let’s go get you fixed up, so we can spend more time together okay?”
“That sounds great.”
The wait at the hospital was long, and Tina was glad to have Bette’s company. Once she had received her 14 stitches, and her tetanus shot she was worn out.

That is one heck of a way to get a date with a beautiful woman. I have skates and am pretty sure that I can do some damage to my body, all I need is a Bette Porter or Tina Kennard to help me.

I’m confident that Bette will get Tina’s number. I’m equally confident Tina will agree to the date. I just hope that ERs don’t become a pick up spot, cause that would be icky. So, jigsaw puzzles and word games at first while Tina heals a bit before a big, splashy date?
