“I know you are probably done in, but I think before we take you home we should get you something to eat. How about we grab a burger, or Chinese or Thai or something and then you can take it home and eat and then rest?”
“That sounds great, I was sure everyone could hear my stomach growling while they were sewing me up I was so hungry. I still can’t believe it took that many stitches. And that I had to get a Tetanus shot. I hate needles.”
“Well I’m glad they cleaned it well, who knows what you cut it on. And the Tetanus shot will make sure you don’t catch some exotic flesh eating disease or something equally as grotesque.”
“Wow, now how about that burger! All this talk about cuts and needles, and disease is making me famished! Yummy!!”
Bette looked over at a smirking Tina.
“You are an unusual woman Tina Kennard.” Bette shot her an endearing smile that had Tina melting inside.
(Later at Tina’s apartment)
“So, do you need anything before I go?”
“No, I think I am okay. Thank you so much for today, for everything.”
“Well as much as I wish we had met under better circumstances, meaning you not being hurt, I wouldn’t trade meeting you for anything. I enjoyed the day with you, even in the hospital.”
“Yeah, I bet you did. I never had so much attention from nursing staff in my life. I think they were all there to get a good look at you.” Tina laughed.
“I think you under value the power of your beauty Miss Kennard; I think they were all there for a good look at you.”
“Hmm, I doubt it, but thanks for saying so. So, uh, how many numbers did you get?” Tina smiled.
Bette felt the color rise in her cheeks.
“Uh, um…”
“I lost count after the 5th one slipped their number to you, so you must have a few.” Tina outright chortled now.
Bette was embarrassed, but knew it was now or never.
“Well there was one whose number I didn’t get.”
Tina felt disappointed, as she thought Bette may have liked her as she liked Bette.
“Whose, I mean who didn’t you get which one?”
“There was the really beautiful and sexy blonde one. I really wanted her number.”
“Blonde? I don’t remember a Blonde one.”
“Sure you do.” Bette sat beside Tina on the sofa. She took her good hand in hers.
“It’s the one who has had my attention all day since she fell at my feet 10 hours ago.”
Bette looked into Tina’s surprised eyes.
“Will you give me your number so I can call you for a date?”

I’m confident that Bette will get Tina’s number. I’m equally confident Tina will agree to the date. I just hope that ERs don’t become a pick up spot, cause that would be icky. So, jigsaw puzzles and word games at first while Tina heals a bit before a big, splashy date?
