    Family Woman (Chapter 6)

“There’s nothing wrong with you,” Bette smiled, and she turned Tina to look at her with care. “Trust me.”

Tina smiled at the attention before meeting a sort of panic in Bette’s eyes and following her line of sight.

“Oh my god … what’s she doing here?” Bette mumbled, articulate enough for Tina to hear, but that wasn’t what concerned her. What did concern her was that woman from the store. It was Candace.

Tina shook her head with a smile, taking Bette’s hands in hers. “You are ridiculous tonight. Candace? That’s our carpenter, Bette. For the cabinets I was talking about.” She couldn’t help but laugh a bit as Bette pulled a face and turned to her. Little did she know what Bette’s true predicament was. “Geez, and I thought you were listening. Wow, that teddy sure does the trick, hmm? I’ll have to buy another. One in every color.” She continued to tease her wife as Bette glanced back over toward Candace in absolute horror.

Oh my god – that’s our carpenter?! Jesus … how could I do this? How could I betray Tina like this? Fuck … I’ve got to do something. Maybe start with telling Tina what an awful carpenter she is. Awful. The worst. She is the world’s worst carpenter.

“What on earth are you thinking in there?” Tina smiled, but her expression showed that she wasn’t about to laugh. She was concerned for Bette. She had been staring blankly over Tina’s shoulder before shaking herself and re-connecting her glance.

    “Sorry.”

“Are you sure you’re okay? I mean … I’ve been trying to overlook this little … thing you’ve got going here … but only if that’ll help you, baby. I don’t mean to ignore you, and it looks like something’s wrong,” Tina ventured, running her hands up Bette’s incredible arms. “Is this one of your stressful work things, baby? Do you need some time to settle your nerves?”

It worsened the guilt just knowing the lengths that Tina would go to just for her comfort. She couldn’t help but smile as she leaned in for a soft kiss from the blond. “I don’t need any time away from you.”

“Well that’s a relief,” Tina whispered mischievously, “Because I really like all of this beautiful attention you’ve been giving me.”

Bette shook her head, “Oh really?”

“Mmm,” Tina teased, slowly slipping over toward the crowd. “I do, but you know those little appetizer pickles? I’ll be right back hunny. You know how I can never resist pickles, and I’m afraid they’re all gonna be gone soon. I’ll be right back! And then I want a nice, long kiss. Okay?”

Mmm. Yes please. Bette smiled to herself, but looked around and noticed that it was getting awfully stuffy in there, and loud too. “I think I might step out for a minute.” She wanted to do anything to slip away unnoticed, and to have a moment to herself.

Tina nodded as she disappeared into the crowd, a smile on her face at the prospect of those sweet little hors d’oeuvres. “Mmm!”

Bette was thankful for her own idea – maybe she could escape not only Alice, but any other trouble that may be thrown her way. It was freezing cold, but she wouldn’t be out for long, and the fresh air was wonderful. She gladly slipped outside, and toward a section of the building that seemed isolated. She took a breath of fresh air and leaned against the structure for only a moment before she heard someone’s footsteps crunching along the side path. It didn’t sound like the careful way Tina stepped in her flats over the packed snow.

    Maybe I can’t escape the crowd …

“Hey.” Bette immediately recognized the troubling voice before turning to see who had come to find her.

    Uh oh.

    1. Seriously, so good. Bette is caught in limbo between her former life and her current life’s predicaments. It’s funny how she is judging herself (married Bette) about the possibilty of her wandering eye while in a committed relationship with Tina, despite her true past of just leaving Tina w/o explanation. What’s worse? Man, the inner turmoil is palpable. Great story, Bi!!

    2. This story is so much deeper than the movie. I like the way Bette criticizes her married self. Also the fact that she can’t figure out -yet- what is that Tina wants to hear, but hopes that “in time” she will. She already is thinking future with Tina. Has she realized it? This story is the best Xmas highlight so far. (keeping my hopes up though..)

    3. HI biissexi, I am so loving this tale. Bette’s confusion over everyday evnets and conversations is so funny. LOL moment aplenty. It is so sweet to read how close and intimate Bette and Tina are being at the party especially as Bette has been fearful of taking things to far to quickly with Tee. Candace really is the fly in the ointment here so I hope Bette squishes her completely. Alice was fun and typically lound and over the top. Perfect! I do hope she fills Bette in on more of her recent past with Tina and Angelica as Bette was heading to destruction with Candace leading the way. I can’t wait to read more so please post soon. Many thanks from Your Loyal Fan.

    4. OMG :o what is Bette going to do? I hope nothing drastic oh wait, what is the other Bette doing? Are you going to venture onto the other side? Oh well, what an awesome journey thus far. Instant biissexi classic. Can’t wait for the biissexi bang ending lol. Thanks bi, you’re the best.

    5. Uh oh indeed! Since Aluce seems to know what’s going why won’t she provide Bette some background on her life , work , etc? Bette’s having a lot of close calls w/ Tina and I’m thinking one of her mishaps will end up with a very mad or confused Tina. Congrats on being done with éxams and thanks for the story update. PPS :-)

    6. I’m happy to hear that your exams are over. More time for you to write. Yay for us!It looks like Alice has saved Tibette from a Candace train wreck. Looking forward to hearing Alice fill in Bette on the details of her present life. More adventures of Teeny and Betsy…LOL

    7. Bette WANTS to smack that bitch down and bury her in the snow….she just needs to get over all her confusion! How about you do it for her!! I continue to love your story and our girls in your hands!! Thank you!

    8. I am elated to know that your exams are over and ecstatic because it means you have more time to write. Keeping my fingers crossed, and hope Bette will know the ‘access code'(what Tina likes to hear) when the time comes. Thanks, your update has made my day.

    9. I don’t like your last line?…”oh oh”.what is that mean?..please don’t tell me!.PLEASE?..HELP!!.PLEASE, HELP BETTE FOR FUCK SAKE!!!!!! HURRY! PLEASE!!!

    10. Happy to see you made it thru exams. Congrats. Now a little R&R before you are thrown once more into the fray. When Bette said she wanted a little fresh air, I thought, OH hell, not now, Candace is watching for her moment. Sure ’nuff there the b***h is. Hope Bette will walk right past her and back inside very quickly before Tina comes and finds them. Maybe she can extricate herself before everything goes awry. Great update. Thanks for taking the time.

    11. That was great and love the way Bette with Tina. Uh oh trouble coming, hope somebody take candyass away from Bette before she have a chance to talk to Bette. Please post more, thanks!

    12. tell me how i missed this story… but not any more… wow… i love it… and even in bette “past”… or other life… candace is a pain in the ass… well its showtime… time for bette to tell her to hit the road… can’t wait for more…pps

    13. Thank you for two more brilliant chapters. I wasn’t expecting Candace to make an appearance, but I suppose a carpenter would go to the-most-popular-hardware-store-in-the-whole-of-Canada! And, Bette, nice guess on “Tell me what I like to hear, baby” …. although a risky one if you’re wrong! (Congratulations on finishing your exams!)

    14. Wonderful and really can’t get enough of this story. Hope it’s not Candace and Bette doesn’t do anything that she shouldn’t. Thank you for this wonderful story.

    15. Oh yeah…smack down time!!! Rubbing my hands together in gleeful anticipation. LOL!Another great chappie…sweet Bette, still trying to figure it out…she’s getting better at it. Keep warm…hear it’s cold out your way!
