#FanficChallenge #Ep7 Telling Angie
While there was no guarantee that she and Carrie would not need the type of forgiveness that she and Bette required, she also knew that she was now 22 years older than she was when she met Bette. And, while she admitted to being a slow learner, she also believed that she was so much more self-aware now and had taken advantage of the year she was on her own and not dating. She had grown so much in that time, so that when her life collided with Carrie’s, she knew she could be…would be, a much better partner.

“Knock knock,” Tina announced herself as she stepped into the home she had shared with Bette and Angie. “Something smells good,” she said as she walked into the kitchen, seeing Bette and Angie working together on dinner.
“Hey T,” Bette smiled at Tina as she dropped the pasta into the boiling water.
“Hi Mama T,” Angie said as she walked around the counter and wrapped her arms around her mother. “You’re just in time!”
“Yeah?”
“Yup, and I made almost the whole dinner!” Angie looked up at Tina, her smile filled with mischief.
“Ann…gieeee,” Bette drew out her name with her low alto voice, while raising her eyebrow.
“Well, okay…I made part of the dinner and Mama B made…” She looked back at Bette and stuck out her tongue. “…a smaller part!!” All three laughed at Angie’s poor attempt to take credit for what looked to be a fabulous dinner.
“Okay, smart aleck.” Bette smiled fondly at Angie, who was still wrapped around Tina. “Finish setting the table while I finish my small part of making dinner.”
“Okay,” Angie laughed again as she rushed to get the plates and silverware.
“T?” Bette pointed to a wine bottle on the far counter, will you pour us a glass?”
“Me too, please,” Angie piped in.
“No you too,” Bette and Tina answered back in unison, laughing at the response they had used many times over the years when Angie wanted to test the boundaries and ask for something she knew they wouldn’t allow.
After dinner, the three of them moved to the living room, Bette and Tina on the sofa, while Angie lounged on an oversized pillow on the floor.

Sorry but no !
A true Tibetter cannot take this
SG
I have so much ambivalence towards these characters now because of the inability of the show writers to write a storyline for a committed couple. Marriage can be messy and difficult sometimes, it does not always end in divorce. People do have the guts and desire to stay in a situation albeit complicated because they do love each other deeply. I love the different perspectives and styles of the writers taking on this challenge, it is balm on a wound created by poor directionless writing that has made our an iconic couple’s storylines a cliche.
Very brave to take this approach given the TiBetters have already made Carrie a hated character the likes of Jenny. Lovely story and gives background where the show writers miserably have failed. JB and LH are such wonderful actresses and know these characters so well that it is a shame the storylines are such a cliche.
I’m feeling a little sick…..Every child of divorced parents i know have a desire that they be married and living together. That is true even if they have been fighting and screaming at one another while they were together. I cannot imagine a child of 16 thinking and responding like this.
If Angie did not think that Bette needed Tina, she would never have called Tina to come to Bette’s aid after the attack incident. In this, I see that Bette is sad about this, And if this is such the right thing for Tina to do, why is she having such a hard time getting the words out? Why are they catching in her throat?
I cannot see Tina walking away from Bette, divorcing her and leaving her child for two years for occasional visits and what daily phone conversations? This is not the Tina I know!
this does indeed break my heart but this is really amazing and brave writing and i just love it for that reason. not sure how i see this woman who is somehow better for Tina than Bette but this is a great take on the usual show mearge offerings.. maybe if GEN Q gets a 3rd and 4th season we might see some sort of reunion but this tina remarrying situation is how the writers are dealing with LH limited availability – and an excuse to have JB giving us the full range of her acting skills. You are a brilliant writer Sea and you should keep writing –
Well done and thank you for giving us a psychologically credible explanation of the truly dire Tibette storyline that the show’s ‘writers’ have developed. I want to write a fanfic myself, in which they end up happy ever after, and which respects the canon, but so far I got nothin! You are a really good writer, Seahurst, bravo
Who knows? Maybe B&T will have an affair while Tina and Carrie are married. In the Tibette world anything is possible
Wow. This is the first of the entries I have read and, you, Seahurst, get the Les Fan Medal of Honor for tibette fanfic bravery. I haven’t figured out yet what I want to happen with B&T, but your great writing, as always, presents a very believable scenario. My one demand (HAH–as if) for future seasons is that Angie have ZERO heartbreak. Thanks for sharing that POV in your story. Hope to read more from you.
