“I know that but I’m jealous” Jess said quieter

“Jealous of what?” Kailtin asked confused

“Your whole family” she admitted “When Malaci pulled you out of the car the other day, everyone was by your side, when you woke up in here, when you collapsed in the bathroom. Your full family come together. My dad would have told me to sleep the pain off and I’d be fine, and my mum? I don’t have one” She looked as though she was going to cry

“You do have a mum…” Kaitlin began

“Then where is she?” Jess snapped

Kaitlin stopped talking and just sat silent

“She fucked up Jess! She left you when you were young; she’s probably been riddled with guilt everyday since. You used to ask us why we thought the reason for her leaving. This is your chance; you don’t need to see her again. Just get the answers to the questions you’ve always wanted and see how it goes from there. If you don’t find out, you’d never forgive yourself” Kaitlin told her

“How would you know if I wouldn’t forgive myself?” Jess said angrily

“Because I know you! Just think about it. Either way we’re still going to be there for you” Kaitlin smiled

Just then Ashley walked back in the room with a bag full of juice, magazines and boiled sweets. Kaitlin and Jess just smiled at her.

“Did I miss anything exciting” Ashley asked throwing a can of juice at Kaitlin, who didn’t think and moved to catch it.

“AAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH” Kaitlin screamed. The doctor came in and looked at her “YOU COW ASHLEY” the doctor smiled and left again.

“Visits over, see you next time” Ashley said sarcastically blowing Kaitlin a kiss.

“That was really sore Ashley” Kaitlin moaned

“I’m really sore…I mean sorry” Ashley murmured

“You’re going to be bloody sore as soon as I’ve finished with you” Kaitlin smiled “Jess stop laughing”

“Sorry” Jess giggled

Ashley picked up the bag and opened the cupboard to put everything in when she realised there was already sweets, magazines and juice in there.

“Kait there’s all of this here already” Ashley said looking confused

“I know” Kaitlin and jess laughed

“Where was the point in me getting this stuff then?” Ashley said with the same dumb founded look on her face

“Because mum and mama put that stuff in there and I can’t reach it because it hurts my side” Kaitlin laughed and winched at the pain

“Why didn’t you just get me to get the stuff out of there?” Ashley asked becoming suspicious

“Because that’s been there since yesterday and its disgusting now, all flat and warm. This how ever, isn’t” She just smiled and Ashley seemed to believe it and even if she didn’t she wasn’t going to argue about it.
