    Bette and Tina, 3 months after the end of Season 2.

    "You are such a tease sometimes.” Bette mused, as she kissed Tina, playfully biting her lower lip.

    "Did you just call me a tease, Ms. Porter?” Tina retorted, feigning indignation. “You were the one wanted us to take our time and go slow, remember, Baby?" Tina raised an eyebrow, keenly aware that she was driving Bette crazy, using her own words against her. Tina reached up to run her fingers through Bette’s dark hair, then pulled Bette towards her and into a searing kiss. Feeling the air leave her lungs, Tina released her hold on Bette’s lips, trying to catch her breath. Tina pushed both of them up into a sitting position, but this time she had Bette straddling her instead of the other way around. Bette gladly relinquished control to Tina, enjoying every second of Tina’s attention.

    Tina had learned a great many things from her eight years in Bette’s arms, but perhaps learned the greatest lesson only after they fell apart. Looking back to the earliest days of their relationship, their lovemaking had always been more passionate, more intense, and more satisfying than anything either of them had experienced. At first, Bette had taken things slow with Tina, allowing her to set the pace, both finding themselves just as fulfilled emotionally as physically. But over time, as Bette became more confident in Tina’s love, she developed an increasing need to exercise as much control over their sexual encounters as possible, deliberately and methodically satisfying her wife’s every physical want and need. Tina could not think of a time that Bette had failed in that regard, as Bette was an extraordinarily attentive and skilled lover who preferred to put Tina’s needs in front of her own. Bette almost always allowed Tina to reciprocate, and she was equally skilled in meeting Bette’s physical needs, instinctively knowing just how to touch her wife to quiet each and every craving.

    But, what Tina had realized too late to save their relationship from Candace was that Bette in control also meant Bette emotionally out of touch. Their relationship progressed, and their love for each other continued to deepen. But as Bette had taken more and more control sexually, and as Tina had continued to acquiesce, their lovemaking no longer solidified their emotional connection, no longer allowing them to transcend the barriers of intimacy created by the pressures of their everyday lives. To complicate matters, Tina had also realized that Bette often had a difficult time expressing her love for Tina in any way other than physically. Words often failed the Yale graduate when it came to expressing her deepest feelings for her wife. So when they spent the last three years of their marriage rarely making love, Tina found herself rarely knowing how Bette felt about her.

    26. Worth the day without an update. However, Ill be a little sad tomorrow not to read what you have coming next. Hot stuff. Glad they have finally reconnected physically.
