“Please allow me to buy the next round” Jodi poured herself a glass of bubbly and lifted her glass. “I never wanted love until I knew it” She looked at Bette. “May you who have found it never let it go even for a minute; someone might get the idea that you are free.” She said with the ghost of a smile. “To Tina and Bette” Jodi raised her glass to them and drank deeply.
“Here, here” Jenny shouted.
“I live in a very glass house” Shane both voiced and signed after the toast. “I love Bette and Tina and there is no doubt in my mind that they belong together and that you got caught in the crossfire so to speak.” Shane paused and struggled with her signs. “What you did to Bette at your opening was wrong. What Bette did to you is wrong. I love Bette and always will.” She glanced at Tina, “Tina too. I’m open to forgiving you.”
Shane rose and the two met in a hug. The air felt one hundred percent lighter.
“I’m sorry Jodi” Kit leaned back in her chair. “What you did to my sister was over the top. I get that she was wrong and she hurt you. She didn’t deserve what you did either.”
“Kit” Bette cut in.
“No let me say this. I don’t say it often enough as Tina pointed out to me the other day. I love you Baby Sis. I not only love you because you are my sister. I like you. I like the person you are with all your faults you are one of the gentlest loyal spirits I have ever known. When you love somebody you really love them and I know you loved Jodi.” Kit looked at Tina then. “I know that you have been in love with that woman of yours since the two of you first met. You two belong together and this just had to happen.
Jodi you were wrong to come after Bette like that and I’m glad Tina shut you down quick. Like Shane I live in a glass house so I am willing to look past the other night. If there is ever a choice to be made though my choice is my sister, her wife and my niece.”
Bette held Tina’s hand tight the whole time Kit was talking. Tina was not surprised at the sheen of tears in the ebony eyes. “Give her a hug” Tina whispered in Bette’s ear. “Come here Angel” Tina took their daughter onto her lap.
Bette rose then became self conscious and hesitated. Kit seeing her hesitate closed the distance quickly she grabbed her and held her close. “I love you Elizabeth Naomi Porter.”
“Aww” Alice groaned along with Shane.
Tina rose with infinite grace and found the only eyes that mattered. Again she tumbled into love and was caught. Angelica was balanced on her hip and focused on Bette as well. She stepped to her side and kissed her quick and dirty, a slip of tongue to light the fire within. She drew back before it went from zero to sixty.
Bette threw her a look telling her that her message was received and it was indeed on.
The three of them stood before their family and the sight of them together as their own family was an image that warmed the hearts of everyone at the table.

Hi Kelika, Great to have the gang all thogether. Jodi’s apology was well said. I think that she can see that Bette’s heart belongs to Tina and vice versa. These are two souls entwined. Brilliant and how cute was Angie. Perfect. Many thanks and more please. Your Loyal Fan.
This chapter was amazing! There is a part of me who hates Jodi but a part that feels for her. I really believe she loved Bette in her own way and doesn’t know what to do with all that emotion. This chapter was so perfect, I can’t wait to read more!

Someone should have just slapped Jodi and threw her out. she did not deserve for them to accept her apology and I for ne don’t believe it was heartfelt, the girl has no heart. Just my own opinion.Okay? You are doing fine with this story and I love it the second time around. PPS
I loved the update Kelika and agree in part with Dainty that Jodi doesn’t deserve absolution for what she did. Yes Bette hurt her (something that Jodi has also done to many a woman), but she did not try to publicly humiluate and distroy her personally and professionally. And this is something that Shane shouldn’t over look, having hurt a many heart in her past. I loved Kit’s reaction. PPS :o).

Loved this from the very beginning,hadn’t stopped yet. Shane and Kit are two wonderful people.They will fight for Bette in a minute and tell her if she is wrong. Jodie could learn a lot from everyone at that table.even Angie. thanks
