    Forever Friends Ch. 26

    Previously –

Dana kissed the back of Alice’s hand and slowly ran her thumb over it in a relaxing manner.  “Goodnight Al.”

Alice yawned and shut her eyes.  “Goodnight Dane.”

Within minutes both women were sound asleep.  They were much more relaxed than they had been in days and they both slept peacefully for the first time in a long time.

    Chapter 26 –

Alice woke to the sun shining warmly on her face.  It took her a minute to realize she was lying in Dana’s bed and an instant to realized Dana was not lying beside her.  Alice sat up quickly when she heard Dana moan from the bathroom.  She rushed to the bathroom and found Dana sitting on the floor next to the toilet.  “Are you okay?”  Alice asked sleepily still trying to wake up.

“I felt like I was going to be sick so I came in here.  My stomach is still turning, but everything has stayed down.”

“Let’s get you back in bed and I will get your medicine.”  Alice helped Dana up from the floor and walked with her back to the bed before going to get Dana’s medicine and a bottle of water.  Alice walked back into the bedroom as Dana hung her head over the edge of the bed feeling another rush of nausea hit her.

“Shit!  I’m sorry.”  Alice said sitting next to Dana.

Dana laid her head back down, rolled to her back, and shut her eyes.  “Sorry for what?  You haven’t done anything wrong.”

“I didn’t wake up when you got out of bed and help you to the bathroom or get your medicine sooner.”

“Alice you did nothing wrong.  You helped me back to bed, brought my medicine as soon as possible, and finally had a good night of sleep.  Please don’t feel bad or apologize for that.”

Alice began massaging Dana’s scalp hoping to settler her nerves and nausea some.  A few minutes of silence passed and Alice began to hear Dana’s light snores and hoped sleeping would help her feel better.  Once Alice knew Dana was asleep she quietly left her room.

Alice sat on the couch in the living room and pulled out her cell phone.  She and Dana were supposed to be meeting the group at The Planet in a few hours for Thanksgiving dinner.  Alice hit the speed dial on her phone and it was answered on the second ring.  “Hey Shane!”
