Friends ch. 33
Everyone sat around the dinner table shocked. No one really knew what to say, this was the craziest news they’ve ever heard. Alice was the first one to break the silence by laughing. She was laughing uncontrollably, and Bette looked at her indignant.
“You’re joking right,” she asked between laughs.
“No Alice, I’m not fucking joking,” Bette said angrily to which Alice stopped laughing. Alexander stood next to her, swallowing nervously.
“Sorry, this is just so…unexpected.”
Everyone sat still shocked, looking from Bette to Alexander then back to Bette. She wanted to say something, but the words escaped her. These girls were her family, and she kept them in the dark. Tina held her hand, and that gesture gave her the encouragement and she found the words to speak.
“I know you want to know how this is possible. How Bette Porter could possibly have a child that is biologically hers. It’s the tragic story of my first love. I don’t want to rehash that bit of my past in great detail. But when I was sixteen I fell in love with an artist, and to make an incredibly long story short, I was sent away by my father to have the baby. While I was there, the baby’s father died, and after I gave birth my baby died, or so I thought.”
“Or so you thought,” Dana asked, shocked.
“Yeah, I thought he was dead but,” Bette started to say.
“Melvin Porter,” Kit said with disdain.
“Fucking Melvin Porter, what did he do,” Alice asked, angrily.
“He forged my signature on adoption papers. And I went through life thinking that I had lost one of the most important people in my life.”
“That fucking son of a bitch,” Alice said getting really angry and standing, “we should go kick his ass, come on Tash.”
“Alice,” Tasha said, pulling Alice back down to her seat.
“What? That man has caused nothing but trouble for Bette,” she said angrily.
“I’ve already taken care of my father.”
“She took care of him alright,” Alexander said, the deep melodious voice brought everyone’s attention back to him.
“Jesus Porter, he looks so much like you,” Alice said.
“I know,” Bette said and beamed a proud smile.

Excellent update. Fae Buckley was a hypocritical POS on TLW. IC showed Bette as weak. I never understood IC’s portrayal of BP during that episode.
Thanks for the update, I am glad that the framily took it so well. I sure hope that Alexander is being truthful, and has no hidden agenda. Ready for the baby.
Great chapter. Happy that everyone has accepted Alexander into the family and that he feels good about it. Sure hope Bette wipes the floor with “f” buckley, she so deserves it. I just don’t want to see Bette cry on television and let that woman get the best of her again. That was so ugly on the show and I didn’t like the way that IC handled it. Bette didn’t have the balls to say aloud what the tape meant, now I hope she feels empowered enough to slap that bitch in the face with it and say aloud that it is her daughter that is in the video and that she wouldn’t protect her own daughter from her own father continuously raping and sexually abusing her to the point that she ran away from home and faye has not tried to find her to keep her safe. She could ask her if that was the christian thing to do. That should stop her in her tracks. Thanks for posting.
The television discussion between Bette and Fay was one of the badest moments oh the whole show. Please let Fay not win again.Thank you for the update.PPS
Missed this story, great update. I hate Fae Buckley.
oh damn this is so good!
