Chapter 27 – Mission at Hand

Grace was eager to get this grant process going. She couldnt wait for Tina to get here. They had decided to meet at temporary office space that Grace was able to secure from an acquaintance. As she was spreading around her reference material on top of the table, Grace looked again at the material she had researched for the grant. This material included information about the local economy, which areas of the surrounding areas would be included in the grant criteria and any unusual exceptions and the impact of those exceptions. Grace reviewed how she wanted to go about the process of making this grant a reality. It was a little exercise she always did that allowed her to stay current with the mission at hand. When she was done she looked at her watch, Tina was do to arrive in ten minutes.

Tina was rushing through traffic trying not to be late for her first meeting with Grace. She was excited about getting this going and the thought of working and learning from Grace herself. She was really looking forward to this project. She was running a little late, not because Bette was late arriving for her babysitting duty. But to the contrary, Bette arrived early and from her end all was fine. It was Anna that proved to be the problem child this afternoon. Anna it seems has come down with a cold or something. She appears to be a little croupy and Tina not wanting to take any chances took her to the pediatrician earlier this afternoon. He said all was well and that this was normal for children and not to worry, get a vaporizer and run it in her room and give her some childrens Tylenol. The end result of all this was that Anna was a little crabby when Bette arrived and well Tina was a little worried about leaving her with Bette. Irene was going to be around for the first hour and then she had plans for the evening, leaving Bette alone with Anna. Bette assured Tina that she was only a cell phone call away and that she felt she could handle it but still Tina hesitated. This hesitation was the reason she was rushing through traffic now.

    1. I enjoyed the whole chapter.
I especially enjoyed the last paragraph, and Tina knows in her heart that memory will always be there to be called up at anytime.
I will catch the next chapter when you are able to bring it to us.
      Have an enjoyable weekend yourself.
      Excellent Job.

    2. Omg…that last paragraph was just so f**king cute…Bette&Anna are just so sweet…::tears::…once again you have managed to reduce me to a heap of emotional mush with your story. So adorable, I LOVED IT!! I’m glad I could make you laugh…I agree with you, let’s just focus on Tina and her journey. It doesn’t matter how long it takes for you to get them together, just as long as you do get them together=P…then I could do my lil’ happy dance. Thanks again Jwet, you and your stories are truly amazing…please update soon=)

    3. Tina doesn’t need a camera to capture the picture. She can have that picture forever by having Bette there with her and Anna forever. Jwet, I love this story. Thank you for writing it.

    4. Jwet have i told you lately how much i LOVE this story of yours:)…..Well i do. Thanks for a sweet, heartwarming chapter. I agree with the rest total kodak moment…..

    5. Get the camera, get the camera. Don’t all new parents have cameras at the ready for those “kodak” moments?

I love how you end this chapter.

    6. Get the camera! You’re going to have to wake them both when you put them to bed, anyway. (Psst….give Anna the crib and Bette the “big people” bed…the latter is better for sharing.)

    7. Jwet!!! So So SO Cute!!! So sweeeet i love the ending. Are u gonna have more endings like this?!?! I hope so…!!! Love it.

Oh and i will try to post tomorrow. I have a bit of an accident with my finger(s) last week thus the delay… but they’re getting better now… so i’m typing a chapter for tomorrow…i mean maybe tomorrow.

I’m soo loving this ending!!! Have i told u that???

    8. JWet,
Much gratitude for the personal feedback. It is great to know that you take the time to see what we all have to say.
I am split in two as I love your style; allowing the story to unfold before me at a natural pace yet am in dire need of finding out what the next chapter has in store.
Am glad that B & T are slowly rebuilding their individual self esteem and confidence such that the payoff will be the realisation that they are meant for each other. Only then will their relationship be renewed.
Thank you for taking me along on this ride.

    9. my heart melted along with tina’s. jwet you seem to capture the true essence of the characters in your writing. very much enjoying this and can’t wait till sunday!

    10. That was just precious…so sweet! Damn! where’s “Mark” when you really need him?! This chapter is just another notch in the awesome Jwet belt! Loved it…Thank you.
