Everything was falling into place beautifully for Bette and Tina. They’d signed the final papers and picked up the keys earlier that day for ownership of the four story loft/storefront property located in walking distance from one of the most beautiful beaches in Southern California. It was Friday evening and Angie was staying with Alice overnight. They’d asked Alice to keep Angie for the few hours on Saturday so they could attend their cooking class but she said she would love to take Angie on Friday night and keep her for most of the day on Saturday. With Tasha gone Alice had a lot of free time and she really loved spending time with her Earth daughter.

Bette and Tina took advantage of the time alone on Friday night to have a celebratory dinner. Before finding a place to eat they stopped by the building to walk around the space. They made notes and jotted down ideas for how they wanted to design it. Now that they owned it they were able to take their time and look at everything in more detail. They found that it wouldn’t need much construction in order to make it livable.

The residential space had hardwood floors throughout and porcelain tile in the kitchen and bathrooms. The plumbing and electrical was done. There were 2 ½ baths already fitted with toilets, showers and tubs. The master bathroom had a spa tub and separate enclosed glass door shower. The other full bathroom had a shower/tub combination and the half bath had a toilet and pedestal sink. They’d already turned on the water and power so everything was functional.

All they needed in the kitchen was to purchase the major appliances; stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, and microwave. The cabinets had a beautiful natural oak finish that matched the floors. They had stainless steel sinks and faucets but the counter-tops just had plywood. Bette and Tina would need to select the granite.

The upper floors could be accessed from interior or exterior entries so in essence they could create a separate living space and sublease if they desired but that wasn’t what they wanted to do. They wanted the 4th floor to be their home office space as well as sectioning an area for entertainment with comfortable leather couches, large screen TV and audio system.
