    Green Diamond 5

     Ch 5

If it’s her tactic of making me thinking about her, then I must admit it’s working nicely.  She has disappeared for a week.  No calls, no texts, no emails, no visits – nothing.  I am beginning to think what happened was all in my head.  Damn you Shane!

“Carmen, you look so distracted!”  Dana is trying to scoff down her salad before her pager beeps again.

“No, I am not!”  I reply half heartedly while stirring my coffee.

“Yes, you are.  Look at your bagel, you haven’t touched it yet! And you have put enough sugar in your coffee to make you diabetic!”  Dana replies.

“I am not hungry today.”  At the exact same moment, my stomach growls loudly.  I smile embarrassingly and put my head down.  Even my body is not co-operating with me today.  I let out a sigh.

“Come on, spill it!”  Dana commands.

“Fine… she hasn’t called.”  I slump my shoulder even lower.

“You must have got it bad this time.  I haven’t seen you like this before!”  Dana is enjoying her moment of triumph.

“You are not helping.”  I sulk.

“OK.  Why don’t you call her?”  Dana suggests.

“That’s a good idea if I had her number.”  I say dejectedly.

“What?  She didn’t give you her number? Oh boy. Forget it then.  It’s over.  They ALWAYS give you their number if they want to see you again.  Trust me, I know.”  Dana says confidently.

“Thanks for your help.” I fake a smile, finish my bagel quickly and decided to throw myself into work – the only way I know how to stop me from thinking about her.

“Forget about her! It’s over!”  Dana shouts behind me like nobody is in the cafeteria with us!

Finally managed to get through the day, Dana and Tina caught up with me as I walk out of the hospital door.

“Hey girl! What you are doing tonight?”  Tina asks.

“Nothing much.”  I shrug my shoulder.

“We have a plan, why don’t we call a few friends and go to your place for a night in?”  Tina suggests.

    1. Thanks for the great update. Good to see Shane being honest with Carmen at this early stage of the game. It sets the scene for a positive relationship down the road. (hint…hint) I love that they just can’t keep their hands and other parts off each other. Keep it coming… PPS.
