Ch 6

Winter has arrived late this year which means there are less people coming in for cold or flu.  This is a good sign, I can concentrate on surgeries and the pile of paper work that a Chief of Resident has to do each week.   I need to organize the work schedule for all the residents and interns.  This year’s bunch of interns seems to be particularly problematic.  Luckily, there is nothing that I can’t handle so far.  

Back to my love life, surprisingly, things are still going strong for Shane and me.  We are as normal as we could be given who she is!  There are some late night unexplained phone calls, some unexplained disappearances, she said they were her ‘other’ business.   Maybe we see each other about once a week, if not twice sometimes… Although we do communicate constantly with advance technology, by that I mean phone messages.  Since we are both neither in meetings or surgeries, we thought this is the best way to keep in contact.

Phone is vibrating, another one – “Boring meeting. Missing you. See you tonight?  S”

I couldn’t help but smile, “Looking forward to that… got new sexy lingerie just for you… C”

“I can’t wait honey. S”

Well, everything is rosy…kinda. She is the sweetest person, we are still dating but we are still not official yet.  I haven’t seen her friends and she avoids mine.   I am happy with it initially, but after three months I want to know there is more to our relationship than this.  Did I just say relationship?  I am in trouble this time.

I turned down Dana for an after work drink and went straight back to my place.  

The aroma of lamb roasting in my oven hits my smell senses instantly after I open my front door.  

“Hi honey.  I made you your favorite tonight, rack of lamb with rosemary, roast potatoes and veg.”  She presses a kiss on my lips, I couldn’t help but turn it into a deeper kiss.  She is such a perfect girlfriend, if she was my girlfriend. 

“Em… I could eat you first…”  I moan.
