“Hey Candy you still there?” Yolanda comes back interrupting Candace’s thoughts again. “You would not believe who that was on the phone, do you remember Bernice, Ronnie’s little sister? That was her calling to tell me her cousin Vince …..”
Candace gets’ lost in Yolanda’s story. From past experience she knows it’s doesn’t really matter anyway, Yo will go on and on and when she realizes the Candace isn’t really listening anymore she’ll call her back and get to the point of the conversation. Candace instead recalls her anger at Helena’s actions. She never in her wildest dreams believed one woman could be so bent on destroying another. When she had fulfilled all the terms of her contract, Candace knew Bette was down. She’d held Bette, night after night those first two weeks after Tina had discovered Bette’s affair. It was in those two weeks that Candace saw a Bette that few in the public world know. Bette was vulnerable, scared and humble. She seemed to genuinely have feeling for Candace. Feeling Candace returned with everything she had. They were together for two months in total and for Candace it wasn’t a surprise when Bette finally left. While Bette had been warm, caring and passionate in their lovemaking, Candace never could get Bette to look her in the eye while they were in the act. It was Bette’s eyes that were the window to her soul and it’s a window she kept shut from Candace.
But that didn’t stop Candace from loving her anyway. If Bette had stayed with her forever, Candace would have kissed the ground she walked and never ask for more. It was the depth of her love for Bette that drove Candace to retaliate now for all the low blows Helena continued to strike on Bette. Candace was aware of rumors that circulated around the CAC after the show was done and demolition had begun. Helena had crossed any line of decency, passing rumors around of Bette drinking, getting her fired in disgrace from her job. Candace knew there was more, probably a lot more. She wanted to get that woman, she just didn’t know how.
“Candy…Candy you still there?”
“Oh … yeah I’m here so get to it Yo what’d you call for?”
“The gangs going out tomorrow and we want you to come. I’m not giving you any choice so I’m calling to tell you to be ready at 9:30 I’m picking you up. No complaints now it’s not going to do you any good. You here?”
“I hear. See you tomorrow.” With that Candace closes her phone, hanging up on Yolanda. She got a smile on her face her friends always seem to know when she needed a pick me up.
She’s still waiting in line when suddenly feels a sharp, painful jab in her back. It feels like the tip of a police club or gun.
“Uhhh” Candace gets out.
“MOVE” is shouted at her.
“What” Candace says turning about to give somebody a piece of her mind. “There’s no where to go, smart ass. There’s a line.”
“No I mean, YOU need to move, get out of here and do it quick. You’re not wanted around here any more. Get it? Consider this your warning.” The man dressed in a black suit and white shirt says. He’s menacingly big, but hasn’t raised his voice loud enough for anyone else in the line to know what he’s said. After looking Candace in the eye to assure she’s gotten the message, he turns on his heals and casually walks away.

Okay, here we go. Bette took step 1, throwing the pills out. Now comes the hard part, staying away from them. It is so heartbreaking to watch someone you love have to battle that addiction every minute of every day! PPS.
Well done Bette for choosing not to take the drugs. Well done. I knw it is difficult but you are not alone anymore Tina’s back.PPVS

Bette took the first step and threw out the pills. Let’s just hope she makes it through the next steps, staying away from them and re-joining civilization. PPS

Glad that Bette flushed the pills and I know Tina has figured out that is what she has done and is beside herself with joy over that happening. Let’s just hope with Tina’s love and strength Bette can stay off them and refuses when Shane offers again. In fact, I hope Shane gets caught by Tina when she does offer to help Bette get the drugs again. She should be horse-whipped, she knows better. Tina also understands how she has helped helena hurt Bette and is trying to make amends by helping Bette and by getting the info that hopefully will bring helena down. Yes, Candy should leave town but not before helping Tina get her. Hopefully the info she has given Alice will be a big help but she will have to be very careful because obviously helena is having her watched night and day. Can hardly wait to see what happens next with everyone. Fantastic chapter.
Thank you for the hope that Bette has finally showed. Some how, some way Helena Peabody is going down for the count. I only hope that Bette and Tina will have front row seats and sharing their lives when the show down comes about.

Hey JWet, Again you have surpassed your own height standards as this tale of woe and redemption continues.It seems like Bette has finally hit rock bottom. She is a mere shadow of the Alpha-Bette that Tina fell in love with. It is heartbreaking for Tina to accept the part she played in this downfall.Confused and dis-oriented Bette was still aware of Tina’s presence and its ability to calm and comfort her. This ESP was wonderful to witness.I firmly believe that it is a great deal easier to believe in yourself if someone else believes in you first.Tina is the anchor for Bette’s psyche.It was like Bette coming home when Tina touched her. Suddenly the mists began to clear and hope returned.I was tearful as Bette managed to flush away the poisons from her life.I hope the shower can continue the job and wash away the dirt from Bette’s heart and mind as well as her skin.And then CandiAss’s comeuppance has beyond. I know that it is Helena that has put this plan into action for her own gains. Candace is reaping what she has sown. I just hope that she has given Alice enough to help bring Helena dow.So many intruging and exciting threads blended together by a Mistress of Melodrama. JWet, the rainbow of feeling you emote so well. I am completely on tenderhooks, sitting on the edge of my chair and then so disappointed when it stopped so suddenly. Just can’t wait to follow this amazing adventure again.So much joy and pleasure from your fair hand that ‘Thank you’ seems so inadequate but it is all I have.Thank you for this delightful drama.Your Loyal Fan and Friend.
Wow! Great chapter. I was surprised that Bette threw away the pills but it sounds like a step in the right direction for her. Tina still seems to have Bette’s number and the ability to soothe her tempered soul.
bringing Bette back from dead is surely sthg only T can do. Who is warning Candy? I want Candy to do damage to Helena. Love it. Thx.
