Heart of Glass: Tina Kisses a Grrrl
“Cluck cluck.” Tina laughed, still feeling a bit awkward despite her friend’s best attempts to lighten the situation. “Helena…I’m sorry, I really am…I just felt…”
Helena fought the urge to shush the other woman, and decided to wait past the apology for what Tina really wanted to talk about. She listened as endless internal debates were aired. Should Tina pursue Bette once again? Did she still have intense enough feelings for her, or was she just lonely?
“If you want to be with her, then pursue her. Distract her from Jodi and just…go for what you want, I suppose.” Helena said with a shrug. She felt a bit of tension gather in her shoulders at the thought of a Bette and Tina reunion. They were just so…
“…just don’t become so insular again…” Helena mumbled, eating slowly.
“What? Bette and I are…were…insular?” Tina wanted to know more, and the desire overcame the equally strong desire to snap defensively. “Well, that’s just what long term couples do, don’t they?”
“Perhaps. Perhaps you can work on such things. Either way, you should really go into this with a clear idea of what you want.” Still treading carefully, Helena swiveled on a chair, burying herself in the act of eating.
“yeah…” Tina sat miserably next to Helena at the table. Her kitchen chairs were high off the ground—a present from Henry. In fact half of her kitchen was a present from Henry. Tina looked around, wondering if her décor needed updating of some kind. None of it felt right all of a sudden. She realized that she had never really decorated a home to suit her own tastes, and she worried that it might be symbolic somehow.
“Aw fuck it.” Helena swore uncharacteristically, causing Tina to smile and slump forward. Suddenly the act of holding her shoulders tensely was just too tiring, so she leaned over slightly, closer to Helena. “Let’s have some wine.” The lilting accent that had once wooed Tina away from Bette worked now to convince her that she could have a bit of wine, and yet still drive Helena home. Neither suspected that the issue would be a moot point.

Great chapter! I really enjoy this story and am looking forward to how this is going to develop between Bette, Helena, Tina, and Jodi. Please post again soon.
Uh, why do they have to tell Bette and why was Tina laughing about Bette and Helena flirting? Perhaps this would be a good time for everybody to get together, confess, and have an orgy? Bette, Jody, Helena, Tina and maybe Debbie Harry’s free now for 5-way?
humm… That was all a bit hot, actually. (*Very* hot. And this is Tilena, which nearly reduced me–yes, alright, *actually* reduced me–to tears the first time they hooked up. Hidey-ho, things change, and all that.) I’m sure, somewhere down the line, I will pay for saying that. Yep. Ah well, I regret NOTHING! Bringeth the smuteth!! Down, you coffeehouse knaves, for hb hath posted, and lo, it was ACE! Ha! Yes, I’m calm now. Great chapter, hb. I trust more is coming henceforth. Thanks!
see, jp, i hated them also…i seem to be in a habit of writing couples i once hated in order to write…something…i don’t know what…but anyway, it’s all about writing tina in a good light, cuz sofa loves her…lol
Hel, I found this is be a chapter I did not expect and actually liked it very much. Tina and Helena having sex and talk about the breakup and being fired. And then having to tell Bette about them, classic!!!!
Well I didn’t expect the smuteth to involve Helena and Tina, but I can absolutely see them getting it on given the circumstances. Fingers crossed that the novelty of Jodi wears off, leaving Bette free to consider greener pastures. I’m afraid all this whispering-in-a-coffee-shop business is starting to remind me of Whispering Jenny in one of your stories. I do hope it’s not an insidious case of author/subject identification!
fabulous!!!!!!
Loved this chapter and the way that Tina and Helena finally discussed their abrupt breakup. I always liked the two of them which I know puts me in the minority.
Wow, Bette’s gonna be pissed!
That was so good. Really believable and right in the context and really annoying too cuz I was writing something similar and now I’ll have to rethink it *g*
I thought this was another great chapter and I do think Tilena works here, if only, to reinforce Tina’s deep attraction for women. Even though I prefer TiBette, Helena and Tina had some pretty strong chemistry…particularly pool scene. You captured that chemistry here. HOT.Thanks.
