“Sounds good. I’ll see you on Thursday let’s say around 1 pm? I’ll come to the gallery and we can walk from there.
“Thursday at 1 pm. I’ll see you then. Enjoy the zoo and tell Jen I said hello.”
“I will. Bye Bette.”

After hanging up with Sam Bette took a quick shower and dressed in jeans, a casual top and sandals. She had about 20 minutes before Douglas would be serving dinner. If Tina had not hung up so abruptly Bette would have asked her to call back after dinner so they wouldn’t be interrupted. She picked up her cell phone and started to compose a text message to Tina when Peggy’s housekeeper Teresa knocked on the bedroom door to tell her she had a visitor.
“Who is it?” Bette asked not expecting anyone.
“It’s Ms. Kennard Bette she’s waiting in the living room.”
Teresa smiled as she left a stunned Bette standing in the middle of her room holding the phone. The woman she was just about to text to delay their conversation once again was here to see her in the flesh. Bette finally snapped out of it and walked into the living room to greet Tina who was holding a beautiful bouquet of ‘I’m sorry’ flowers.
“Hi Tee.”
“Hey babe. These are for you.” Tina says handing Bette the flowers.
“This is a nice surprise.” Bette responds indicating the flowers and having Tina there in front of her.
“I just wanted to say again how sorry I am about last night and the misunderstanding this morning.”
“You don’t need to be sorry Tee. The misunderstanding was all my doing, but thank you. They’re beautiful.”
Bette takes the flowers and gives Tina a kiss on the cheek. The flowers were already in a vase with water so Bette placed them on a table and led Tina to the sofa.
“I don’t want to sound ungrateful but I’m a little surprised to see you here. I was just about to text you to ask you to call me after dinner so we wouldn’t be interrupted again. Douglas is serving in about 10 minutes.”
“Oh… I’m sorry. I’m interrupting. I was close by and I drove by a flower stand and thought of you. They would have delivered but I decided to make the call in person. I shouldn’t have come. It was impulsive.”

Thank u for this chapter. I know that they still have a long way ahead of them and for sure they still have to strengthen their relationship for the future problems that they have to face but I am just happy that they have already taken the baby steps and they have already kissed. Yipee!

I really liked that a lot. you did really good for my romantic heart. ;)
at the beginning, Sam and Bette meets for lunch, for me it seems as a date. but I’m glad that Bette could alleviate Tina’s jealousy. It was a sweet moment between them on the beach. This was the first step in their lives and still have a long journey ahead of them, but at least moving together.
I’m looking forward to the next one.
Great post BAT. Yay!!! Finally we have positive movement between them and it was great. Bette may not consider this meeting with Sam as a date but, I can assure Bette that Sam considers it a date. Sam has already expressed interest in Bette and Tina knows that because she knows Sam a lot better than Bette and Sam admitted as much to Tina. Like Tina said, “why else would Sam interrupt her family time to call Bette,” rather than wait until Monday when she was back home, that would have been enough time to contact Bette. “Houston, I think we have a problem.” Hopefully, Bette will have sense enough to see through Sams’ machinations. Bette always seems to think other people don’t have ulterior motives because she doesn’t think that way and she doesn’t think others will do such. Well, open your eyes Bette and watch what happens.

Yes, yes, yes. BTW, I am jealous of their (Bette’s) lifestyle. She is living large. Nice to have good friends in really high places. PPS.
Bette and Tina together, now we build trust, complicity
partnership, friendship and love … it’s a long way to go because the obstacles difficulties that will arise in their way, and they have to be prepared
to overcome.
