    Chapter 2

Teresa Colvin leaned back in her chair and casually glanced at her watch.  In less then ten minutes, a certain blonde reporter would knock on her office door and enter with a sweet smile and a quiet hello.  The mere anticipation of the blonde’s presence set in motion the gentle tug of a smile at the corner of the tired Superintendent’s mouth.  Kennard had been her shadow for the last three days – three of the hardest days Teresa had ever had to face.

Losing Antonio had been a heartbreaking blow, but the aftermath had been even worse.  To know that she had inadvertently been the spark that had ignited the horrid chain of events had been almost too much to bear.  Jarek had tried to convince her that it wasn’t her fault, but the fact of the matter was that Teresa had taken Antonio’s vest.  For that, she would always hold herself accountable.  Not only did he give up his young life to save hers, she took the one thing that might have saved him.  It would haunt her forever.

    "Superintendent?"

Tina Kennard’s soft voice wrestled Teresa from her inner turmoil.  Looking over to meet the reporter’s concerned gaze, she watched as the blonde tentatively walked toward her. Teresa was immediately struck by the sense of calm that enveloped her in Kennard’s presence.

    "Good Morning, Ms. Kennard."

Tina nodded a hello, "Good Morning, Superintendent.  .Everything okay?"

    "Why wouldn’t it be?"

"I was standing at the door for a while; I even knocked a few times.  You seemed far away."

Teresa shrugged, "Just thinking, that’s all.  How are you this morning?  Sick of me yet?"

The reporter laughed and Teresa felt an odd flutter in her chest.

"Hardly; it’s more likely that you’re sick of me."

"Surprisingly enough I’m not.  You’ve kept your promise in regards to staying out of the way.  I have no complaints."

"So does that mean I can have some time with you this morning?  To maybe ask some questions?"

Colvin regarded the reporter with an amused expression,

"Is that why you’re standing there with two cups of divinely smelling coffee?"

Teresa laughed as the blonde’s face flushed crimson.  The reporter had clearly forgotten about her offering.

    1. Excellent! While I can’t help but see Bette in everything JB does, you have Colvin down pat. Interesting to see if Tina will be the alpha in this relationship , especially as it sounds as though Colvin is unaware of her lesbo side. PPS!

    2. Scaf, Great update as this story starts to develop the relationship between Theresa and Tina. It is funny how Jarek sees it and yet Colvin is still denying it. Can’t wait to read more. Please continue soon. Your Loyal Fan.
