    Chapter 2 – “Superintendent?”

    "I…uh…yeah."  Tina handed the stunning brunette a cup of coffee, their fingers touching ever so slightly during the exchange. 

    It was Teresa’s turn to blush. 

    She watched as Kennard pulled a chair over and sat in front of her desk, unable to tear her gaze away from the blonde’s fluid movements as she crossed her shapely legs and leaned to the side to grab a voice recorder from her bag.  Tina was a beautiful woman and her body was nothing short of spectacular, especially when highlighted in a fitted grey suit and a deep blue collared shirt that strained against the blonde’s chest.  Teresa felt a twinge of arousal and immediately tried to douse the confused feelings of attraction with a gulp of piping hot coffee.  She looked up to find Tina staring straight at her.

    "Did I drift off again?"  What the hell is happening to me?

    Tina nodded and sipped her coffee.

    "I’m sorry." 

    "You don’t have to apologize.  It’s been a tough week, right?" 

    Teresa felt the strength of Tina’s gaze and it terrified her.  She had spent her life shutting people out and here Tina was, looking at her like she could see it all.  Every fear.  Every anxious thought.

    "Yes.  It’s been hard."  Colvin pressed her lips so tightly together they formed a distinct straight line.

    For a moment, neither of them spoke.

    "If you don’t want to do this right now, I’ll understand…"

    "No, no.  You ask your questions, Ms. Kennard."  Teresa took another sip of coffee as Tina smiled at her. 

    "Okay then.  It’s actually just one question:  Why?"

    "Why what?"  Teresa tilted her head to the side and watched as Tina clicked her recorder on.

    "Why this job?  The past three days I’ve watched you, both on the street and in this office and it’s clear to me that you prefer the streets."

    "How is it clear?"

    "I believe I’m the one that’s supposed to be asking the questions."

    Colvin laughed and Tina found herself relenting,

    "Okay, fine.  The energy changes around you.  In here it’s all business.  You’re serious and controlled but out there," Tina motioned to the window behind the Superintendent’s chair, "there is a fire in your eyes.  There’s that same sense of restraint and control but I can see you’re having fun."

    13. Excellent! While I can’t help but see Bette in everything JB does, you have Colvin down pat. Interesting to see if Tina will be the alpha in this relationship , especially as it sounds as though Colvin is unaware of her lesbo side. PPS!

    24. Scaf, Great update as this story starts to develop the relationship between Theresa and Tina. It is funny how Jarek sees it and yet Colvin is still denying it. Can’t wait to read more. Please continue soon. Your Loyal Fan.
