    Her Guardian – Chapter 10

Bette and Tina having been making out on the couch for a little while.

They are just cooling off again when Tina’s cell phone rings.  She’s not sure she wants to interrupt this moment.  She looks to Bette to gauge her reaction.

Bette looks at Tina, “Answer it babe.  I need the bathroom anyway.”  She pecks Tina quickly on the lips and walks out of the room.

Tina grabs her cell phone and sees it her mother.  She always calls on Sunday morning.  Wonder what’s up?  “Hi mom.  What’s up?”

Tina’s face goes white and she begins to tear up.  “Oh my God.  Is he ok?”

Bette walks back into the room to see Tina’s condition.  She immediately goes to her and sits next to her on the couch, placing her hand on Tina’s knee.  Tina is still on the phone.

“Ok mom,” said through tears.  “I’ll be there in a little while.”

Tina hangs up the call and falls into Bette’s arms.  “Babe, what’s wrong?”   She is sobbing and can’t answer.  Bette holds her tighter.  “T, I’m here.  Whatever it is, we’ll face it together.”

Tina pulls back from Bette and tries to pull herself together.  “I’m sorry Bette.  I have to go.”  She’s still sobbing and Bette is holding both of her hands.

Bette is trying to be patient and give Tina her space.  “That was my mother.  She said my dad had a heart attack and they’re in the ambulance on the way to the hospital right now.”

Tina stands up.  “I’m sorry our weekend is ruined, but I have to go.”  She starts to walk away.

Bette stands as well and grabs Tina’s wrist.  “Tina, you’re not going anywhere.”

Tina whips her head around and looks at Bette.  “You’re not going anywhere without me.  Babe, you’re in no shape to drive.  I’ll go with you.”

Tina falls back into Bette’s arms, eternally grateful that she ‘s there with her right now.  “Thank you.”

“I’ll grab your bag and pack one real quick.  Do you need to call anyone?  Maybe Dana?”

“Yeah, I should.”  Tina sits back down on the couch.  Bette kisses her on the cheek.  “I’ll be right back.”

    1. Perfect update! I know accepting parents are not always the case, but it’s so nice to find them in the stories here and there! Hospital scenes can be so stressful that I was prepared for any number of reactions from Tina’s mother… love the one you chose. PPS!

    2. Glad that it was only an anxiety and not a heart attack. I love how Tina’s mom accepts not only Tina’s love for women but her acceptance of Bette.

    3. Bette certainly has gained more points with Tina’s mom! That was so nice for Bette to drop everything and take her GF to the ER. But of course we wouldnt have expected anything different……Now are you teasing us with the anticipated romantic evening these two women are going to have EVENTUALLY? LOL…..Thanks for the great chapter

    4. It’s GREAT that Bette stood by Tina and didn’t lay back and let Dana do it. I was hoping that she would ask Shane or Alice to go by and feed Sam ifd she didn’t get back that evening. I wounder if Dad will be as easy as Mom has been with B&T’s relationship. PPS:o).
