Bette left Tina’s and went home to check on Sam. She took him with her for a three mile run. She showered and changed and headed to the base. She went to the base exchange and bought new Coast Guard t-shirts for her two favorite girls. They didn’t have kid sizes so she bought the smallest one they had for Hannah.
Bette heads over to pick Hannah up. Lucy is there. "How are things?"
"They’re great Luce, how bout you guys?"
"We’re good. Hannah has been waiting for you all morning." She calls Hannah to get her things and get ready to go. "So, how’s Miss Tina?"
"She’s fantastic."
Lucy studies her for a moment. She’s known Bette for years and never seen her look quite like this. It suddenly hits her. "Bette Porter, you’re in love!"
Bette smiles. "Guilty as charged."
"Well then we need to get to know Tina better. She made quite an impression on Hannah. How about dinner tonight, when you bring her back?"
"Let me get back to you. We’re taking lunch to T, I’ll ask her."
"Ok."
Hannah comes running into the living room and drops her backpack. She launches herself at Bette, who catches her and lifts her up over her head. "How’s my girl?"
"Good," Hannah screams as she’s thrown in the air.
"Are you ready to go?" Bette asks as she puts her down.
Hannah nods yes and they gather her things and head out.
Bette and Hannah head to the mall for some shopping
Meanwhile across town in the teacher’s lounge …
"So I see you finally made up with Bette," Dana observed.
"Yes."
"Well what happened?"
Tina relates the whole incident to Dana.
“That’s great Tina. I’m so happy for you. You know you were starting to worry me.”
“I know. I’m sorry Dane. Thanks for being so supportive through everything.” Tina hugs Dana.
“So, celebration dinner?”
“Let me talk to Bette. She’s bringing me lunch.”
“Ok. See you at lunch.”
Bette and Hannah have done some shopping. Hannah is a natural born shopper and Bette loves that. And of course, Hannah can convince her Tia Bette to buy her almost anything.

Glad they got all their problems worked out and are back on an even keel. Hannah is a really sharp little tike and not at all bashful about asking questions and seeking answers. Kind of put our girls on the spot. Lovely chapter. PPS
