“You ready for lunch squirt?”
“Yes. I’m hungry.”
“We’re gonna go take some lunch to Tina and eat with her ok?”
“Yes. I like Tina. Is she your best friend?”
“She is. What do you think Tina would like for lunch?”
“Cheeseburger and fries?”
“You think? Or is that what Hannah wants?”
“Both,” the little girl states matter-of-factly.
“Ok. But no McDonald’s this time.”
“Ok, ok,” Hannah sighs.
They grab lunch for four, thinking Dana will probably be free to join them. They arrive at the school with a few minutes to spare.
“We’re early. I guess we’ll just wait here for a few minutes.”
“Tia Bette, do you love Tina?”
“Yes I do. Do you know what that means?”
“Uh, huh. That means you’re going to live together and have a baby like me like mommy and momma did.”
“Whoa, slow down there baby girl. I do love Tina and that means that I want to be with her all the time. And maybe someday we’ll live together.”
“And have a baby?”
Bette nervously looks at her watch. “I think we should go find Tina, it’s time for lunch.”
“Ok.” Hannah jumps out and gets out of the jeep.
They head to the main door and find Tina standing there waiting. Hannah sees her and takes off running to her. “Tina,” she yells.
Tina swoops Hannah up in her arms and places a kiss on her cheek. “Hi there girlie.”
She puts Hannah down and kisses Bette too. “Hi baby.”
“Hey there gorgeous. How’s your morning?”
“Good. I hope you brought food. I’m starving.”
“We did. We brought food for Dana too. Does she have lunch now?”
“Yes she does. Let’s go get her before she orders something else.”
Tina leads the way to the teacher’s lounge, stopping by the cafeteria to grab Dana on the way.
“Hi Bette.”
“Hey Dana.”
“And who is this?”
“I’m Hannah.”
“Hi Hannah. I’m Dana.”
“Ok Dana. We brought you a cheeseburger too.”
“Thank you.” She turns to Bette. “Thank you for thinking of me.”

Glad they got all their problems worked out and are back on an even keel. Hannah is a really sharp little tike and not at all bashful about asking questions and seeking answers. Kind of put our girls on the spot. Lovely chapter. PPS
