“Seriously, you guys go and have fun. I’ll take care of things in the office for you.” Ruth said sincerely. Then she hugged Alice and whispered.

“Enjoy yourself ok? I am so happy for you.”

“Thanks.” Alice said. Then they broke the hug and Alice got into the car. They pulled out from the car park and waved goodbye to Ruth who was grinning from ear to ear waving back to them.

“So where do you want to go now?” Alice asked as she made a turn to the right.

“Where do you want to go?” Dana asked.

There was a silence in the car before both spoke up at the same time.

“Shopping!”

They laughed and Alice stepped onto the accelerator and headed to the shopping mall. Dana had to clench onto the holder for dear life.

“Hey Al slow down, we are not in a hurry. Oh, look at the car in front of you!” Dana knuckles became white now.

“Calm down Dane. Trust me I am good at this.” Alice moved her glasses up and continued to overtake some of the cars.

“Gosh Al, I hope you don’t drive like this when Chris is around.” Dana closed her eyes tightly.

“Nope, I only drive like this when he’s not around.” Alice grinned mischievously as she concentrated on overtaking the cars in front of her. Dana made an annoyed face.

When they reached the shopping mall, Dana eyes was still shut.

“Hey Dane come on we are here already.” Alice opened her door and ready to get out from the car.

“Oh, I thought we never make it. Are you sure we are not in heaven now?” Dana let out a chuckle when Alice smacked her arm. She loved the contact.

“Well Dane do you want to go to hit the shops or you just want to sit here all day long.”

“Ok.” Dana opened her door and got out from the car. They made their way into the shopping mall and took a light lunch before started to check out all the shops there. Both were excited as they had not shopped together for a long time. They went from shops to shops and tried the clothes they liked with each looking on happily on another. At about five hours they were exhausted from trying the clothes they liked and decided to go for a snack with each of them clutching more than 10 shopping bags now. When Dana suggested McDonald Alice furrowed her eyebrows as she knew Dana usually ate healthy. Dana just shrugged her shoulder saying that she missed the crap food pretty much. Alice relented and followed Dana in as they ordered burgers, fries and soft drinks. They ate and chatted happily just about anything that came to their minds. Alice smiled to herself. She noticed from their conversation that Dana had grown up a lot. She was now aware of other issues surrounding her besides tennis. She even proved that Alice was wrong on a certain statistic, which to Alice’s astonishment. She was also more confident now. Before Alice could compliment further she realized her mind was drifted away and Dana was looking at her now.
