She sat down on her chair, working to control the shaking that came over her body. A sheen of perspiration formed on her skin as she struggled to control the tears that formed in her eyes. She blinked, causing them to fall down her cheeks, and silently cursed herself for giving into the pain.
She closed her eyes to attempt to control her breathing, to relax her tense body, which proved futile when images of Bette from the night of Provocations flashed through her mind.
The image of Bette entering their bedroom and removing her jacket to hang it, caught Tina off guard. Her hand flew to her mouth as she worked to stifle her sobbing.
The moment Bette saw Tina’s reflection in the mirror that night, she had known Tina was aware of her affair. She offered no excuse, made no effort to deny the truth, just merely apologized for her actions.
Tina wanted Bette to feel the pain she was feeling, and when it became obvious she couldn’t experience the same type of heartache, Tina lashed out wanting to manifest her pain.
“I’m sorry,” Bette had said quietly as her eyes reflected remorse and sadness.
Tina had pushed her, desperate to inflict heartache on Bette, yet at the same time she craved the sense of security that only Bette could offer. Her life had been turned upside down, and no amount of wishing would ever correct the damage that had been done.
Tina took a deep breath before turning her computer on, forcing herself to concentrate on the present moment rather than the night of Provocations. The computer sprang to life and she logged in, bringing up her e-mail program as a preferred means of communication at the time.
She spent a few moments typing a note to Bette, offering her apologies for cancelling on their dinner plans that evening. She offered no explanation or promise to contact her later, she simply signed it ‘T’ and hit the send button.
Bette smiled as she sat at her desk and saw the notification of Tina’s incoming message. She quickly saved the document she was working on and toggled back to her e-mail program to read the message.
Once she saw the one line message, and lack of intimacy in the note, she picked up the phone instinctively knowing something was amiss. She frowned as Tina’s voicemail message greeted her, requesting that a brief message be left so she could return the call. The voicemail had come on immediately, indicating to Bette that Tina had gone out of character and completely turned her phone off.
“What’s the matter Babe?” Bette muttered to herself as she dialed Tina’s office number.
“Tina Kennard’s office.”
“Hi this is Bette,” Bette said to announce herself to Tina’s young assistant. “Is she in?”
“She is but her ‘do not disturb’ function is on. Can I take a message Bette and get it to her when she is available?”
“Can you just let her know I called?” Bette asked as she searched for her keys and cell phone. “If she comes out let her know I’m on my way there.”
After hanging up and finally finding her keys, she gathered her things and walked past James.
“Forward anything important to my cell,” Bette demanded as she quickly walked toward the exit of the building. Once outside, she squinted at the bright sunlight that shined directly in her eyes. “I don’t know what’s going on there, but I know you aren’t ok Baby. I’m on my way.”

They{AAron and Kate} are going to keep on Tina back until she really loses her temper and tell them to put it where the sun doesnt shine and walk out. Some one should put Jenny in the luna bin. So glad that Bette knows Tina so well,that she is going to see her. Just dont let her run into Jenny or Kate. thanks for posting

Oh my God, they’ll be talking about THE SCENE. It could be a harrowing experience for both Tina and Bette. That has got to be the best, most disturbing, rawest and most powerful scene I’ve seen in the show but the couple hasn’t mentioned anything about it since. I’m curious on how you’ll process that experience, Gumby. And I’m also glad that you’re allowing this couple to talk and straighten things out first before they engage in some serious “reconnecting” in bed. Thanks a lot for the update, Gumby! PPS.

Their revisiting of THAT night should be interesting, can’t wait for the dialogue. I think they’ve both grown & reached a place where they can be honest & get everything out on the table….including, i think, that bette (at that time) may not have been experiencing the heartache that tina had of her wife’s betrayal, but she had the compilation of so many things in her life crumbling around her and that too was a heartache. i know these ladies are in a place where they can offer each other support & bette can help tina get through this next “Lez S#!t” (nice one with that) hurdle

aaaaaawwwwwwww too much high drama…go Bette go…that’s love when u just know…I’m on the edge of seat now. Plz let Bette take that Kate bi-atch to the cleaners & don’t allow T to tell about what happened that night. They can’t make her. It’s time she stood up to them but looks like B has to do it. PPS

Maybe for once when Kate sees Bette coming in to check on Tina she will realize that Tina has been right all along. Bette is what Tina has been describing all along. Yes she can be stubborn but that does not mean that she does not love Tina and will do things that don’t seem to fit her character.
I love how Bette decides to go over and see Tina and help ease her pain instead of getting angry at Tina for cancelling dinner or star feeling insecure. Hope you’ll share how that goes in your next post. I bet it’ll be super sweet. Can’t wait. Thanks Gumby!

tina is right, it’s to late to stop making the movie and she already invested so much in it…i hope bette can help her deal with that particular painful time…even Laurel admitted that it was the hardest scene for her, so let’s see how it will go here…thanks

Oh I love my girls when they are in”alpha mode” as Bette is right now. So happy that is in tune with Tina again, so much that she can feel deep down that something isn’t right with Tina, and she is on hr way to tke care of her lady and the situation. I hope Bette gently tears Kate and Aaron a new a–hole and makes them understand Tina is not to be baited nor intimidated into writing something that should remain private. I love this chapter. Can we please have thenext chapter this weekend? Pretty, pretty please. Thanks Gumby, the story is wonderful.

Good chapter. I think Tina need to quit her job and let that script shit show it up their ass, so she not get all this stress and be painful like this. Now let see Bette go kick their ass and rescue Tina. Please post more, thanks!
this is just a (another) great story.I really can’t figure out what tina will do with that script problem.being a very private person myself I think it would be wrong to share that night with the world if it is only to please her boss and kate. pps
Ack! Cliffhanger! Kate may think she is making Bette look bad so Tina may cave in and give her a shot, but really all she is doing is causing Tina more pain. I am glad Bette knew Tina wasn’t ok and is going to her.
Gumby… loved the line alice used… “Lez Shit” so true so true… hopefully bette can and will help her with the 2 week gap… i think they should make up a story for those 2 weeks… no one should know what really happened… it should be just between the two of them…

Finally! They will address that awful night and get past it. The catharsis will let them get on with life and love – together. Sorry, Kate, but you’re going to have a great movie. Thanks, Gumby! Now that I think of it, the TV B&T have never mentioned that night, have they? Or is that another of those “unspoken, unseen” moments that we haven’t been privileged to see? Thanks for addressing it.
I’m happy to see this grown up Bette.. who jumps at the idea something isn’t right. She tries to make it right when it happens..instead of letting it go. Its really nice. I hope she can help..and comfort Tina. So that they can truly move on.
Bette is going to Tina’s only to talk about that awful night when Tina found out about her & Candace. Maybe Bette can help Tina write about the pain they both went through during that two week time frame? PS.
