    Housewife (2)

“Morning,” Gregg whispered, stepping toward her and holding her from behind. Kissing her shoulder.

“I love you,” Tina whispered, more to herself as a justification for being with him so long, after all of her unhappiness. She did love him, but it was never enough. Had she ever been truly happy with him? With all of her heart? She started to wonder.

He chuckled, “I love you too.”

    “I’m late.”

When he stepped back from her, and she turned to see the look of hopefulness on his face, she clarified. “To call Paulette.”

The excitement fizzled out, but it brought an idea to his mind. “Why don’t we … try, Tina? It’s been a while since we did. For a baby, I mean.”

She smiled, but only to the ground to mask just how terrible his timing was. There was hardly an explanation for denying it. “Gregg …” There was nothing but pain when she saw the look in his eyes – he was so oblivious. She wanted to fall apart, but she forced herself to stand still.

“Alright, alright, no baby talk for now,” he smiled, grabbing her cup and bringing it to his lips. “But maybe tonight …”

    “Gregg.”

“You know how much I want you to put on that sexy dress you bought.”

    For Bette.

“Why don’t you put it on tonight?”

Thinking of nothing to say, Tina just walked past him toward their room. “What’s wrong with me?” she whispered, trying to focus on the fact that she should make another coffee. She needed the caffeine. She closed her eyes to gather herself.

“Oh shit, I’m late too!” he shouted, having just checked his watch. “Fuck! I gotta get my stuff!”

“You have to get changed,” Tina called out, rolling her eyes at his habitual forgetfulness.

“Can you get out that button shirt with the weird stripes?”

Tina rolled her eyes again as he shouted down the hall, already having opened the closet, expecting the request. Shaking her head, she muttered to herself. “Every time.”

Once he had gone off, she was cleaning in the kitchen when the phone rang. “Hello?”

“What are you wearing?” It was Bette.

Tina smiled, but forced it away. “That’s not funny.”

“I’m not fuckin’ smiling. Well … I’m happy. Guess what I’m doing?”

    1. Hi GR.. Thanks!! Your story is always captivating..6 pages but feels like it’s simply too short. Even though I am confused as on how do they involved and keep living in this kind of situations? Must be living in agony… Does Tina or Bette or both not dare to stand up? And what about Gregg? Does he really has no clue at all?? Looking forward to your next update as i am curious to know where you are going to take us in this story :-)

    2. Guilt is the worst obstacle but that only happens when you’re not brave enough to face your feelings. I don’t feel sorry for Tina but I do feel sorry for Gregg, unless he isn’t what he seems. Awesome update thanks GR 

    3. Okay, okay why does gregg have to be a nice guy?? Ugh! Okay regardless of what most lesbians think there are some pretty nice guys out there, for example, Tim. I for one was mad at Jenny for betraying him but at the same time I understood her struggle. She could have handled it better. Now in Tina’s case, she’s in a loveless marriage, she loves him but she’s not in love with him. I know that feeling from experience and it is the worst feeling in the world to have to hide who you really are. Lesbiabism is not a choice ya know? Though this affair is morally wrong because of the innocent bystander, Gregg, who if he was cheating as well I would be all for Tina doing it too, but he’s not. I hope Tina handles it better than Jenny did. She needs to tell him her feelings because finding out the way Tim did would be much more painful.Okay sorry for writing an essay, but you like comments and I love your stories!

    4. Have read both chapters so far and enjoying it. Something is on my mind about this situation; we know that Tina is married, unhappily so but we don’t know Bette’s status. Is she marrie, living with someone, or just single and carefree. I say married or in a committed relationship because she can only come to Tina at certain times. If she is free she could come anytime she wanted to since she knows that Gregg is working during the day and also when he goes out with the boys so that tells me she is with someone AND cheating on them with Tina. Therefore Tina doesn’t need to leave her husband even though she is very unhappy and she doesn’t seem to be employed. So if she left him she wouldn’t be able to take care of herself without a job or a way to make a living. Great chapter. Thanks.

    5. Lots of great comments above, so I will just focus mine on your extraordinary writing. Once again, you describe their thoughts and feelings soo well, which really makes all of the difference when storytelling. Wonderful job! You really engage the reader in their emotions and turmoils, and therefore, have us hooked on the outcome of the characters. Every damn time, GR!! Great job and please continue your fantastic tales of B & T.
