How Hard Can it Be – Part 3a

Shes fine. Shane said not offering an explanation.

Okay. Dana said slowly, nodding her head. And Carmen?

    Fine.

Dana waited to see if Shane was going to offer any more of an explanation. When it was clear that she wasnt Dana spoke herself. OK. Well. Shane, its good seeing you. Glad we had this chance to catch up.

Shane smiled slightly amused at Dana. A part of her enjoyed giving the awkward tennis player a hard time. Jennys doing fine Dana. Shed been seeing someone and hopefully shell get better. Shell be there later so you can see for yourself. And Carmen is great. Although I would prefer to keep those details to myself if you know what I mean. Shane smiled at the blush that had started in Dana cheeks.

Like I said, it was good to see you. Dana said again. This time with sarcasm infiltrating her voice, she knew that it amused Shane when she could make Dana turn red in embarrassment.

Ill see you later, Dane. Shane said with a chuckle in her voice. Two oclock at the Planet. That part was the truth! Shane called to her friend as she left Dana standing in the kitchen and walked out the door anxious to get over and see Carmen

Shane knocked on the door to Carmens apartment, half amazed that after the last couple of weeks she still felt nervous every time she stood here. And every time her nerves were calmed as soon as Carmen opened the door and smiled at her. This time was no different. You know you really can let yourself in you know. Carmen said thinking about the key that she had given Shane. She opened the door wider and let Shane inside.

Yeah. Was all Shane could offer to this statement. She smiled almost shyly at Carmen and shoved her hands in her back pockets. How was work last night?

It was actually really good. You should have stopped by.

Yeah, well, when I got home Mark and Alice were sleeping and Jenny was feeling lonely so I stayed and hung out with her. Carmen nodded.

Well I havent been to sleep yet so I was just about to crash. You can stay if you want.

    1. I like snickerdoodles LOL
nice update can’t wait to see where this is going. And I’m on carmens side about mark I don’t understand why they just forgave him?? Anyways, I though maybe hella was having sex in her office and that’s why she didn’t want to see Tina, guess I was wrong.

    2. Sharmen interaction is so sincere. I too wondered about forgiving Mark so easily. Just thought it was ones of IC’s need to appease the straight viewers. But he was such a creep that I hated him anyway. It’s as if he raped the women; yet they continually allow him to interact with them… Go figure!
Tina family is coming huh! That’s going to be interesting.

(Random thought) Hey I was thinking that maybe IC should expound on Kit’s character by dwelling in her past and her child’s eventual removal from her custody, then their reunion at Melvin’s funeral and their relationship thereafter. I love the Kit character particularly her and Bette’s relationship in Season 2. We need more from her.

    3. okay this comment is better late than never… i LOVE the way you write Mark – and his interaction with Alice in this story. i also love how you write dana. (everybody for that matter, but dana is hard to get and you do it so well.)
