Bette slowly rose from the floor of Shane lounge room and once again found her feet.
You leaving already? Shane asked knowing bette had been laying with her for a good four hours.
Yeah, should really go home and sleep for a while Bette said as she made her way over to the door.

Half an hour later Bette pulled the SAAB up the driveway in front of her home to fine Tina sitting on the front steps. Bette got out of the car along with her bags and walked towards the front door.

I came by to see what time we need to meet tomorrow, Tina said stepping aside allowing Bette to unlock the front door.
Tomorrow? Bette asks pushing the front door open.

Oh yeah, sure hang on Ill just go and find out for you Bette says as she walks down the hall to find the appointment card. She returns and silently hands the card to Tina.

I live with Alice remember, she mentioned she was going to talk to you this morning at breakfast
Oh, well yeah Shane will be ok, she is looking at retirement, but it is her decision guess.

Ok, well Shane is thinking of retiring from the game Bette stated.

Yeah the game that she is a player in, the game of women Bette explained.
You were once a player of that game yes Tina quizzed knowing the answer.
Yeah, before I met you I was Bette said holding eye contact with Tina.
So why do people usually retire? Tina asked
Mostly because they get played, like Shane in the instance, or because they lose interest Bette continued to explain.
So why did you retire? Tina asked needing to hear Bettes explanation.
Bette inhaled deeply and thought carefully before she answered, she knew that she had to tell Tina the truth, although she knew that Tina knew her reasons for retirement, Bette knew it had to be said again and it had to be said right.
I retired because I fell in love with you, I retired because I knew I had found the only one who completes me, I retired because I wanted to be the only one to have you, and I wanted you to be the only one to have me
So why wasnt I the only one to have you Bette, why did another woman get to have you in a way that was reserved for me and only me? Tina asked without even realizing she had opened her mouth.
