Hunt for a hidden history
“I could help, Bette. You can’t be absolutely certain the plan is going to work. What if they really are capable?” Helena protested.
Shaking her head, the brunette refused, “No, Helena, you can’t jeopardize your own safety and make enemies with the Irish mob by intervening their hit. I won’t let it.”
“I have one year left on my sentence.”
“Exactly.” Bette’s attitude was stern, “don’t take more risks, get out of here alive and be the badass you really are, Helena. You don’t belong here.”
“Neither do you.”
The stubbornness made her chuckle. “You don’t know that. In fact, you don’t know what kind of person you’ve been helping.” Actually, the brunette had her reservations toward this heiress in the beginning. She wasn’t sure if Helena was somehow colluded with a certain party that wanted her dead. But after several days of brief encounters, she had found the woman candid and upright, even a little naively so.
Green eyes boring into dark brown, Helena observed the woman in front of her and argued with conviction. “If you are the cold blooded murderer they say you are, why would you want to protect me?”
It momentarily shut her up. A good point, Bette creased a brow.
“And Tina seems to be a good judge of character. She loves you, which by itself speaks the truth.”
They started a staring contest, Bette quietly questioning the reason why Helena would insist on partaking such a risky operation, while Helena holding her stance.
“It’s my prison. Nobody dies under my watch.”
With a sigh, Bette laid out both her palms, “nobody’s dying.” When the Brit kept on glaring at her, she finally compromised, “fine. You be there. But don’t do anything other than making sure I don’t expire.”
Hearing that, the woman finally took away the laundry bag she had tossed on Bette’s bunk and left satisfied.
——
Cars passing by swept up clouds of dusty air from the dry pavement. All kinds of cars, cargo trucks, pickups, travel size SUVs, one after another, crossed the checkpoints in Laredo.
In a rental car that pulled up by the road, a pair of hazel eyes eagerly searched for the arrival of her friend behind thick sunglasses. The blonde woman shot up from her seat and scrambled out of her vehicle when she saw the unmistakable figure approaching.

Alright, folks, it’s been a hell of a ride filled with my craziness, as you can see that the story is drawing to an end.
I promised you a good ending, so I’m working on the last few chapters and I feel a bit elated not to have to write about more blood and gun and fight.
Thanks for tolerating and reading! Comments are welcome as usual! Or just tell me random stuff, what’s on your mind.
Love and Peace
Robyn

oh and dunn, bibi, lip, guys come on, I love HELENA! She’s so darn cute, especially from season 3 and on. To me she’s pretty harmless. I don’t get why so many people depict her as a evil bitch. She’s such a cinnamon bun, doesn’t deserve any of the shit people been throwing her way LOL

Don’t have the time to read now but I agree a little bit about your praise of Helena. But she will never my favourite woman.
Till later. ..

Here i am again and wow, what Bette is willing to endure, phew. Have a lot of respect for her and for you to be able to write it.
I am glad that Tina found Sarah Schuster and some how i knew that her real name was Jenny! That nutcase. I hate her more than Helena and you do a good job to make me like her :-).
But i am ready for the good stuff in this story, so bring it asap.
Thanks for the update!
