    I Need My Best Friend – Part 10

    ‘How long have you been awake?’

    ‘About two hours, but the coffee is fresh, I just made it.’

    Pointing to the list, ‘what’s that?’

    ‘I’m trying to make the list Foxworthy suggested, you know about the things that I’m angry about.  I was hoping we could try to talk some more.’

    ‘Okay.’

    ‘I’m really going to try Bette.  Will you still try to help me?’

    ‘I’ll do whatever you want T.’

    Bette smiled and said, ‘I was thinking since your list may take you awhile and we’ll need food I’ll go to the grocery.’

    Tina looked up to find Bette smiling, ‘very funny.’

    ‘What, that your list will take a while or me doing the grocery shopping?’

    ‘You in a grocery store is pretty funny.  I could go with you.’

    ‘You concentrate on your list.  I’m going to get dressed.’

    When Bette came back into the kitchen Tina handed her a piece of paper.

    ‘What’s this?’

    ‘A grocery list, it might help.’

    ‘I’ll be back soon.’

    * * * * *

    When Bette returned Tina was out by the pool.  Bette put away the groceries and walked out back to see how she was doing.

    ‘Are you finished with your list?’

    ‘The first step.’

    ‘There are steps?’

    Tina motion toward the table, ‘can we sit?  The first step was to list everything that I’m angry about and then decide what each thing had in common.’

    ‘You mean like categories?’

    ‘Right.  So I’ve listed the things I can think of and now I need to group them.’

    ‘Why don’t I fix breakfast and let you get back to it.’

    Smiling Tina said, ‘You’re going to fix breakfast?’

    ‘I think I can manage a couple of bagels and some fruit.’

    * * * * *

    They had finished breakfast and cleared the table.  It was such a nice day they decided to talk by the pool.

    Bette was sitting at the table, trying to hide how nervous she really was.  Tina was fighting the urge to run.

    Bette finally spoke, ‘I’m not sure how this works, did Foxworthy tell you how we should do this?’

    1. I am so glad to see this story back up. It was an excellent chapter, and I do hope that these two will come to the realization of their love for each other. Also that it does take an awfully lot of work from both just not one. That involves open communication, talking, even if it to go out for a date and spend the time alone. Then the rest will fall into place. I can’t wait for the next chapter. Thanks so much.

    2. FINALLY!!!I was so happy to see another chapter from you (LOVE IT BTW)Can’t wait for the next chapeter. I agree with all, you must learn how to crawl before you can walk before you can run
