    I Want…I Want…I Want…I Want…I Want

In a soft, shaking voice that expressed all the vulnerability she felt, Tina left her message.

“Bette…I…I want you to come home. Please…baby, I want you here with me. I want you to hold me…I want to hear your laughter…I want to see your beautiful smile…I want to feel your love…I want to lay beside you in our bed…I want you to be with Angelica and I…I want…I want…I want…oh Bette, I want you.”

She could barely get her final words out through her tears.

“No others…just you. Please baby….please, come home.”

As she hung up she felt her knees go weak and she slid down the wall, curling into a ball on the floor, sobbing for her lost love until her body could take no more and she fell asleep.

    ~   ~  ~

The closing of the front door cause Tina to stir from her wine induced sleep, which brought a low moan from sleeping on the floor in one position for seven hours.

    “T!”

“Bette?” Tina answered, confused from sleep, not sure if she was dreaming the vision of Bette dropping her bag just inside the door and rushing towards her.

“T?” Bette lowered herself to her knees, lovingly tucking Tina’s hair behind her ear, away from her face.

“What are you…?” Tina asked, bewildered.

“I got your message,” Bette answered. “I have been traveling all night to get back to you.”

“You have?” Tina asked in a small voice. “All night?”

Leaning down, Bette placed the softest of kisses on Tina’s forehead. “You asked me to come home, so, I came.”

Tina moved to a sitting position, not being able to control the groan of pain coming from her stiff muscles.

    “T, I…”

“I need you to fight for us,” Tina blurted out, interrupting Bette.

Bette stared at Tina for a long moment, all the fear showing in her eyes as they filled with tears.

“I can’t be the only one fighting T.”

With a shaky hand, Tina reached out and caressed Bette’s cheek. “You won’t be.”

Bette gathered Tina into her arms, stroking her hair as Tina laid her head on Bette’s chest.“What about…?” Bette asked, her voice weak and trembling.

Tina looked up into deep brown eyes that spoke of safety, of comfort, and of an endless love. “It’s you Bette. It’s always been you.”

    The End

    1. Welcome back!! I never understood the way IC set up S3 and the way it unfolded. As a viewer and longtime fan, it was not satisfying at all. It was stilted, awkward and the conversations between Bette and Tina were so sparse and unrealistic. After 8 years in a relationship, that they wouldn’t thoroughly discuss their problems was totally irritating, unauthentic and just plain cruel to the fans. I love your resolution and revisionist outcome. It definitely seems logical. Tina wouldn’t throw 8 years away in such an impulsive fashion. Please consider writing more.

    2. girl I was about to be mad at you for bringing up one of the most painful scenes of the series to watch. I hated that scene with Henry in their bedroom. I always thought that was disgusting. But needless to say by the middle I realized you took it in another direction. I wish the writers of the show would have had the talent and foresight to write it up this way. great job Sea!!

    3. that scene in s3 was always hard to watch…Laurel is a wonderful actress and she pulled it off but i was always wondering why Tina did what she did…your version is much better…thanks for that romantic side of you :) (it was great to see you again, 3 years is indeed a long time)

    4. I hate to whine but… Can’t we have more? I like this one better than the one that actually happened in the show. :) Thanks for sharing this with us. You made me day!

    5. Hello mate, what a fab chapter – I love it when you get an idea and just can’t let it go till its written down. I loved the spin on the telephone conversation and at last we saw Tina really saying it how it is. Thanks for a great read. x

    6. I was so excited when I saw your post this morning but I was at work and I knew that I wanted to devote more time to savor it! I love your loyalty to Tina and I would have loved to have seen a similar scene played out in S3. I thought that IC took a lazy way out when JB became pregnant. It never made sense for Bette to be pregnant and I can understand how the 2 of them could grow apart when Bette lost her job and Tina had to go back to work. Tina wanted to stay home with the baby and Bette was not stepping up to the plate. There was blame all around. When Tina went back to work, she resented Bette and maybe she had attractions to men but it seemed so random…..just any man….not a man in particular. I actually liked her choice of Henry…..she was stronger than him and maybe she needed this. My biggest thing that I resented was Tina fucking him in their bedroom ……so rude….and then giggling and making out with him in the kitchen for Bette to see. I saw this as a total departure for Tina. I sometimes wonder if IC knew her characters at all. I know that you know them better than she does!!!Thanks for the post…..sorry to be so wordy!

    7. Hello my friend! This was excellent, the journey you took us on through Tina’s emotions was very real. Sometimes, no matter what the situation, you just want to feel worth it and have the person you love validate that by fighting. I get the realism, and it is very real, and I’m glad you took the time to construct this chapter! Thanks Sea!

    8. I loved this version of season 3 instead of the sadistic version that was shown on the screen. I hope that you will want to write again because you are a brilliant story teller.

    9. I’ll take your rusty weak spots over IC’s crap any day of the week.LOL! I loved the symbolism of Tina switching that light on in her master bedroom to the light being turned on in her head as she became fully aware of what she was about to do. This episode from S3 always disturbed me. The way that Tina was so quick to get with Henry and then to screw him in their bedroom was just disgusting. I didn’t watch alot of S3 because it just didn’t make sense to me. The story line didn’t flow with S1 and S2 and I don’t think Tina would meet Henry, go for a dip in the pool with him and then have a cheap romp with him against her bedroom door- all in the same episode! YUCK! It was seriously messed up. Thank you for writing the dialogue that I wish IC could have put on the show.I have a great idea, Seahurst. How about you lubricate the keys on your laptop by rewriting the entire third season of the Lword? LOL! You know you want to….please? **insert pleading puppy eyes here** PS.

    10. You may not have written in awile but no one can see that. Thank goodness for the writer’s on this site, you make everything right, as it should have been. our version of that scene is so much better and more in tune to what Tina would have done. So happy you wrote this. You know something, I’ve just had a scathingly brilliant idea – why don’t you and some of our favorite authors get together and re-create all six seasons over in a way that would have kept “our girls” together happy and so sompletely in love, that it would create a new standard for women loving women. How about that? Hope you continue this.

    11. I am a die hard romantic so this story pushed all the right buttons. I have now erased the S3 episode and replaced it with your version. You ROCK!

    12. Thank you thank you thank you. What a relief. My heart was hearting when I was reading the first pages. this is what should have happened, but as usual IC made our community looks like s… Thank you for showing that we have self power. Thank you for repairing our image through your post. Wonderful post, very touching. Love it. thank you

    13. wow, Seahurst, that was absolutely amazing. I almost didn’t read it because the title reminded me of the disastrous season 3, but I can’t pass up a piece of your writing. And I’m so glad that I didn’t. That was really, incredibly great. It’s nice to read your stuff. Now, not to be greedy, but will we every find out how Bette and Tina will deal with Dani thinking she might be a lesbian? No pushing though ;)

    14. Exactly – this is what should have happened. Brilliant, awesome amazing story – no creakiness or rustyness at all :) Thank you love your writing. :)

    15. Hi Sea… like you i hated season 3 and only watched it once… when it aired… and i never brought the DVD… to bad season 3 didn’t pan out the way you just wrote it… thanks for your take on season 3… Mary

    16. OMG ! This was soooo great, Seahurst !!! Loved every single word. In fact, I really hope the feeedback you’re getting is going to make you want to write some more. Thanks, I had a wonderful time reading this.

    17. This makes me so angry because it didn’t happen this way instead Tina had the audacity to not only bring Henry in their house but she also fucked him in their bedroom of 8 years, no compassion at all!!!!arghhhhhh ok the show isnover let me calm down

    18. My God, how I love the writers of this site.
When I was reading I thought: I do not believe that the will
repeat the same horrible scene that happens in the third season,
but grace, you did what you should have done in the IC series, after all
von they lived eight years and not eight days! none fought for
another to regain his great love.
You did an excellent job even more professional than
      the authors of the series.
      CONGRATULATIONS!
