    The Prognosis & a little chat…

     

     

     

    Well Here it is…

     

    CHAPTER 48

    “Can we step outside for a moment, Ms Porter?” The medic asked

    “It’s fine to speak in here…Were all Shane’s family” Bette replied politely

    “Okay..Well…The reports came back from toxicology…The tests confirm our initial suspicions…Miss McCutcheon definitely overdosed on a cocktail of cocaine and alcohol.”

    “So how is she doctor? Is she okay?” Bette asked anxiously

    “Well she is in a serious but stable condition…Unfortunately there can be serious implications after a person takes a cocaine overdose…The next three days will be crucial, the patient will be at risk to things like seizures, high blood pressure, increased heart rate, and other possible changes in behavior… But more worryingly, she could suffer a heart attack or a stroke…"

    “Oh God!” Alice said shocked at the doctor’s statement

    “But she’ll be okay won’t she doc?…” Kits said almost pleading with the medicine man to say yes..To agree…

    “She is in the best hospital in Hollywood, and the staff here are amazing…But I can’t honestly answer that question just now…As I’ve said…The next 3 days are paramount..”

    “Thanks Doctor..” Dana said politely

    “Doctor? – When can we see her?” Tina interjected

    “Soon…But it may be an idea to not have too many people in the room at the one time…It may overwhelm Shane…It is imperative that she remains settled and calm if she wakes..”

    “Okay, and thank you Dr…?”

    “Sorry, forgive me…I didn’t introduce myself…I’m Dr Dylan Moreland…You should get home tonight, there is nothing more you can do to help at this moment in time..”

    “Were not leaving her!” Bette stated vehemently

    “It’s your call Miss Porter…I can understand you wanting to be here…Now, I better get to my next appointment before I’m late..” Dylan said with a soft empathetic smile

    When the doctor left the gang chatted amongst themselves for a while, all silently praying that their friend would pull through…

    They heard the doors open, and watched as Mr Kennard and Kayleigh came rushing down the corridor…They had just closed the nightclub then came straight to the hospital…The gang informed them of Shane’s condition…Chris suggested some of them should go home, get some rest and come back fresh in the morning…

    After a lengthy discussion, Dana and Alice finally agreed to go…Leaving Kayleigh, Tina , Bette and Mr Kennard at the hospital.

    6. what kayliegh said was the truth… if bette didn’t go there when she did.. i also believe shane would have died by morning… love the father daughter story line too

    7. Love the Dr. Geez that is one of the people I loved on the show If I put down the people I didnt like JODIE,Max. TOM.Lacy,Tonya.Gabby.Winnie. So Dylan is my #1/ Thank goodness Bette has a temper or our Shane would be dead now. Now to get Bette to beliver this. Like the father and Daughter talk.

    9. I think its a blessing in disquise that Bette went in with guns a blazin’! She probably did save Shane’s life…now please may she pull through with no major complications! PPS:)

    12. Always wished I could have had talks like this with my father, that ws wonderful. Now Tina’s biggest hurdle is to get Bette to understand that she actually saved Shane’s life, had she not gone to confront Shane, she wuld have died. Fantastc update. Thankks for posting. Post when you can.

    14. I am sure Shane will survive but with some of symptoms that Dr. Morland explained so she will have to slow her fast life down. Bette needs to for give herself for being angry enough to go and confront Shane because what K said is very true if she hadn’t Shane would have died so Bette saved her life. Tina also needs to stop feeling it wouldn’t have happened if she had kept it from Bette as well if she had Bette would not have found her in time. All things will work themselves out. Shane will have the hardest time forgiving herself but II think the gang will help her with that.
