I Will Follow You Into The Dark – Chapter One
Chapter One
Third person narrative
The stars were chasing after each other. They knew their haunt was in vain, they knew that the chance they would find the star they searched for was very small, but that didn’t mean they gave up.
To Bette, it was a lot like love. You always search for that one person that you are meant to be with, but the chance you’ll find that person is rather small. The only difference was that people did give up and ended up in marriages with people they don’t really love, or with people they liked a lot, but didn’t love, weren’t in love with. People should be as brave as the stars, dare to change and dare to accept that change.
Bettes change had come not that long ago. For her, it had been hard to deal with the fact that she was not who she tought she was. She had no idea if she had to be angry with Fiona or if she had to be grateful towards her for showing her the world she really belonged in.
Looking back at her life now, she knew that somewhere inside, she had always known she was gay. She had just never listened to the voice that told her that.
And hadn’t Billy prooved that she was straight as an arrow? They had been together since her fourteenth, and she was still with him now. When you are with someone for five years, that has to mean something, right?
But then Fiona had come along. Fiona, the beautiful, art loving redhead who had made her crazy. She couldn’t stop thinking about her from the very first day they had met. It seemed such a cliché, to fall in love with the school rebel. She obviously had it for the rebels: first Billy, than Fiona. Or Billy and Fiona at the same time? God, she didn’t know.
She had had such a wonderful time with Fiona, they had shared such beautiful moments. She could really talk to her, they understood each other. At least, that was what Bette had thought. Billy was only interested in football, he was obsessed and she didn’t know anything about it. She had tried to, but it simply didn’t satisfy her talking about it, watching games or be involved with it in any way.

Hey there G, this will take a little bit to get through, but I’m going to try to do so tonight. Glad to see you posting here! :-)
Okay…quite an interesting start for sure. It looks like Bette is with a boy and trying to avoid that inner voice that is screaming for her to embrace the needs she holds within. Love the conversation with Kit. LOL!! Sister! *shaking head* Good stuff. Will take a look at the next ones and comment on the last chapter you posted. Thanks so much for bringing this story here. Be back later…
