Chapter Sixteen
Bette Porter narration
I still couldn’t believe it was actually Fiona.
“Bette, where the hell are you?”
“I’m with friends, why?” I cursed myself for not telling her I was with my girlfriend. I felt like I’d repulse Fiona and I didn’t want that. I was over her. I was madly in love with Tina. I was over her. Why couldn’t I just handle the idea of hurting Fiona?
“I’m at your house.” Her voice was shaking and I was worried.
“What’s wrong? What do you want from me?”
“I need you, Bette, please. Just come home and I’ll tell you everything. I need you so bad, I’ve missed you so much. I’m so sorry for everything. I never meant to hurt you.”
I know I shouldn’t believe her, but my heart was melting. She needed me. Fiona needed me so I had to be there for her.
The other girls were all looking at me.
“I’m sorry, but I’ll have to leave,” I heard myself say. I saw them frown at each other. Tina looked most worried. She took hold of my hand.
“What’s wrong, babe?”
“Nothing, T,” I said. I bowed to give her a kiss that lasted a little too long than I had intended to and I pulled her up. I took her face in my hands and said: “It’s gonna be fine.” I knew I was convincing myself more than her.
“Do you want me to come with you? Is something wrong with your dad? Or your sister?”
“No, it’s fine, I promise.”
“Will you come back?” Shane asked. I consider the question and answer: “I don’t know. Don’t count on me.”
Tina looked at me anxiously and wrapped her arms around me. She felt how tensed I suddenly got, we know each other really well.
“Hold me,” she whispered in my ear. “Promise me everything is allright.”
I didn’t say anything. I just couldn’t. I hugged Tina close and kissed her brow. I looked into her eyes and saw them brimming with tears. I felt really guilty. Tina did have a sixth sense for how I was feeling and I just knew that she knew something was really wrong. If Fiona was here, it was really wrong.

What are you doing with these two, please don’t tear B&T apart, I am mad at Bette and I can’t bring myself to be in her situation or be rational about it, she just left Tina, but if that was all about getting a closure then I understand. Thanks Hun, you are great as always and you can’t have a writer block, it’s impossible you are so full of ideas, you know something, I don’t like this Fiona person that much, she is trouble. Hope everything will goes well with our couple and this was just a tease.Much love

Oh hell naw! Bette made promises to Tina don’t let her fall back into the trap of Fiona for all we know she might try to get Bette mixed up with the life she leads now. Try to help her Bette but don’t get too close.
