I Will Not Let You Fall

”Pass me another beer,” Shane said, rolling the dice.
”Wait a second, it’s my turn,” Helena snatched the dice out of Shane’s hand and rolled it. ”Five… One, two, three–”
”Haa! You’re going straight to jaaail, loser,” Alice mocked cheerfully.
”Fuck off, Alice,” Helena grumbled, moving her token to the space marked In jail.
”Think about your behavior while you’re there,” Shane smirked, right away getting a potato chip tossed at her by the Brit.
”I think I’m gonna buy a house in Indiana Avenue,” Kit announced and put a red house-shaped token on the needed space. She handed over ninety game dollars to Tina, who was the Banker.
”Kit, you’re kicking ass,” the blonde remarked good-naturedly. ”Who’s next?”
It was Karen’s turn to roll the dice. She moved her token and landed on Dana’s property.
”Yay! You owe me two hunded bucks again, young lady!” Dana exclaimed in joy.
”Dammit, why do I land on the damn Short Line like fourth time in a row?!”
”Guuuys,” tilting her head back on the couch, Alice groaned in frustration. ”Monopoly is getting boring. Can we play something else, or watch a movie maybe?”
”Shane, where’s Bette? It’s almost nine,” Tina wanted to know, looking at the short-haired brunette worriedly. She had been on edge for some time already. ”You told me she’d be back by eight, can you call her?”
Shane sighed. She herself was growing concerned. ”Hun, please have patience, I’m sure she’ll be back any minute.”
Tina stared at her, suppressing the urge to insist further. Shifting her eyes to Kit, the blonde noticed that her hands were shaking slightly and she had a distracted look in her eyes.
The sudden ringing of Shane’s phone made Tina jump literally and figuratively. She watched closely as Shane stood up if a little in haste and made her way toward the balcony. Helena followed her lead right away while everyone gazed after her in silence.
”TK, chill, everything’s fine,” Alice tried to reassure her jittery friend.
”Why do I have a feeling then that it’s not?”
”Because you’re a fusspot. Take it easy. Drink some more beer.”
Tina ignored her friend’s appeasement. She decided to listen in on Shane and Helena. Approaching the balcony stealthily, she could only make out some bits and pieces of their harsh-whispered dialogue, which consisted mostly of curses and interjections.
Now Tina was sure that something was wrong. Holding her hand over her pounding heart, she stepped onto the balcony.
”What’s going on?”

Hi Valery:
What a wonderful update, like Tina, I’m starting to freak out; what would happen with Bette, she was visibly hurt, and because of the adrenaline she thought she was fine, but she can’t breathe well and she probably has a head injury; I hope Marcus and the rest of her people will come to help them. I hope also her boss give them for dead, so, in that way, they could retire from delinquency.
Please update soon, and don’t forget your other marvelous story.
Thanks, I will be eagerly waiting for the next chapter.
