I Will Not Let You Fall
Then Tina had stopped spending nights at Bette’s place. First it had been just one night of sleeping over at her parents’ house before she would come back, but, as time went by, Tina had started to overstay there, telling Bette that she needed to take care of the garden. Bette had sensed that it was lies, smelled something very wrong about the way Tina acted, but had tried to control her temper.
Until this one day when she couldn’t anymore.
It was early evening and Bette had just woken up from her two hour slumber. Tina had told her earlier on the phone that she’d try to return home by 4pm, but it was about about 6pm already and there was no sign of the cryptic blonde. Bette took her Blackberry and dialed her girlfriend, almost shaking with pent-up anger.
”Yeah,” Tina answered in a small voice after too many rings.
”I want you to tell me what the fuck is going on with you,” Bette demanded through gritted teeth, barely supressing the urge to raise her voice. ”Right now, Tina. You will tell me exactly why all of sudden you’ve started acting like you don’t want me anymore, like you’re uncomfortable in my company.”
The blonde audibly sighed. ”Bette, please…”
”Please what?!” Bette pushed, on the verge of yelling. ”Please leave you alone? Please don’t call you anymore? What?! What the hell do you want?!”
There was silence on the other line, which enraged Bette even more.
”Am I talking to the wall? I need answers, Tina. I’m fucking fed up with your irrational behavior.”
”Can we please talk when I come home?”
”Home? You’ve certainly been successful in forgetting where this place is,” the brunette continued to express her resentment.
Another sigh was heard from Tina. ”That’s not true.”
”When will you come?”
”Later in the evening.”
Bette closed her eyes tightly shut and clenched her fists, beyond mad by her girlfriend’s superficial responses. ”Tell me the time,” she let out rigidly.
”I don’t know… At nine, maybe.”
”If you’re not home by nine, I will come to your parents’ house myself and have this fucking conversation with you anyway. Understood?” Bette dictated and, without waiting for Tina’s answer, hung up.
She wanted to smash her phone into pieces, but got control of the impulse and hurled the device onto the table instead. She felt angry, hurt, abandoned. Tina was slipping out of her reach, drifting away from her for an unknown reason. Suspense drove her crazy, she needed closure desperately.

Hi Valerie:
Thank you for this a great, but also very sad chapter, after being in great peril and being betrayed at work, after going through so much physical and emotional pain, Bette has to face the estrangement of her beloved Tina and the attack on her dear friend Marcus.
It is also sad that Tina has to leave Bette because of her fear, justified fear, even with all the love she feels for her girlfriend, and it’s very unfair that corrupted and treacherous people like Helena and the rest of the mob are enjoying their lives. Thanks so much again for the update and please post soon

Hi Valerie,
This chapter made me cry for Bette esspecially and Tina. I understand Tina’s fear and it is a very complicated but to let a Snake like Helena in to her head is just horrible.
Bette is going to let her dark side rule due to Tina’s leaving and Marcus being shot.
I still have faith in the titel and gonna believe everything will be good at the end.
Despite the sad chapter, it was a fantastic update.
Thank you!
